as we all no vista has came out in jan 30th we gamers like to use fraps for our clans videos and stuff. my question is can fraps work /w vista while gaming
I would think so, I googled it and I saw one person who is getting real bad FPS when using it.
Jesus... One more reason for me not to install Vista.. they are really piling up aren't they..
I got Vista for "free" because I bought my copy of XP when they had that promo if you bought XP now that you would get a free upgrade to vista..

Works the same for me.
LT.Victim-If the upgrade is free then it is worth it.
Commie- It all depends on your hardware configuration. I have two friends who installed 64 bit and were absolutely problem free. You just have to be prepared to take the time to find the right drivers and perhaps do a little bit of research if any issues do come up. I have yet to find a problem that couldn't be fixed by just searching briefly. In the long run with an OS like 64bit Vista you will appreciate that extra address space.

I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I downloaded Fraps and have not been able to get it to work. Of course, I might just be an idiot, but I don't think so on this occasion.
Hope that helps.

Even though I have a Fairly decent machine.. I'm not willing to give up much Performance.. I paid for it all, why should I have to sacrifice it.. I mean vista isn't THAT much better, is it?
hmm. well I guess I'll give it a go. the only thing I'm worried about is compatibility with my xFi soundcard-the drivers were still in beta stage last time I checked, and i only have 2gb of ram.Kmarion wrote:

Better, but not "that" much better. That is why I said if it is free then yes. It is a new OS so those who aren't prepared to work though the inevitable should wait. It a personal decision and for me it doesn't bother me. As far as the fraps thing I have been using fraps and vista since the early 5k builds of Vista and have never had a problem. I have 3 clan mates running on vista and using fraps as well. I didn't even know people were having problems until I saw this thread.LT.Victim wrote:
