C4 as a last resort. Anyone done this?

First of all I searched and I could not find a recent thread concerning this specifically so thats why i created a new one.

Now onto my question. I was recently playing as Spec Ops on Karkand (20/64 ppl on the server). I had taken some serious damage (down to 1-2 bars of health) and was hiding down one of the alleyways while I worked out what to do. I checked the map and all my allies in my area were dead, I was the only one left. The UAV was still active and I could see about 10 red blips all right ontop of my position. I had half a clip of ammo left and no grenades. Basically I was up sh*t creek without a paddle or a boat. So rather than wait to obviously die I covered my location with C4 and waited with the button. I watched as the blips ran around nearer to me and as they got so close i could hear their voices. As soon as someone ran past me (dunno if he knew I was there or not) I pressed the button and blew him, me and 2 others with him to hell.

Basically my question is: do people do this much? and/or is it frowned upon or just a very damn good way of going out with a BANG as it were?

Well no reason. Just wondered as Ive never seen it done myself before and Ive not heard anyone mention it either. Haha yeah thats what I thought when I did it. Should have said "George Bush Akbar!" as i did it eh!

Few times I have been down to few bars of health and without bullets/grenades... Ran behind a corner and dropped a C4, then just waited for the victim *BOOM*

It's funnier when you drop a claymore, then stand just beyond it with a knife. When somone comes, duck behind cover, look up quickly and if they draw a knife, stand up as if challenging them. If they run forward with a gun, keep cover. BOOM.

It's funnier when you drop a claymore, then stand just beyond it with a knife. When somone comes, duck behind cover, look up quickly and if they draw a knife, stand up as if challenging them. If they run forward with a gun, keep cover. BOOM.

On Wake its also fun been at the airport as an SpecOps... There is usually someone driving a round with a car
trying to get few roadkills... Nothing is more satisfying then dropping a C4 and waiting for the car "Oh now I'm doomed !! Run for your life !!!!"

And then *BOOM* ;-)

Haha yeah! But your right, being claymored does suck. Whats worse is seeing the damn thing for long enough to think "f*ck" before it goes off. I mean you kinda do learn where they usualy get placed, but it always does blow.

How about when C4 or claymores get placed at spawn points like in the tunnel arch on Karkand. Thats always an awful event.

A mine would work just as well, and there's no timing involved.

should be able to cover your self in c4, and then jump off buildings into a group of people.
you would also get IO jihading where people would run around and chase down support/assault players.

I have gone on several c4 streaks. Just put them where people will likely run into. In Karkand, put it not on the ground, but on the wall right around the corner as they turn. The c4 has great radius blast as well it should. C4 deaths are the most satisfying for me. Especially putting them on an unoccupied enemy vehicle and then kaboom when they get in.

p.s. Someone that gets 64 kills IAR as support on IO is he likely to be using wallhacks or is he just super amazing?...

I remember being a tank gunner on Karkand. We ran into some poor USMC spec-ops guy and he started throwing C4s at us. However, he was five metres away, so the packs just landed at his feet. I started to shoot at him so he panicked and hit the detonator.
It looked so funny, this guy just throws down his C4 at his feet, then blows himself up, not damaging us at all.

BF2S Forums C4 as a last resort. Anyone done this?
