Over the weekend 3/17-3/18, I tried two newer mice. I first purchased the Microsoft Habu.... It had great feel (rubber coated buttons) and It lights up (if your into that). The buttons on the side (left) are moveable. (comes with a second section to move buttons from original position, further back or forward).

I am one of those wacko's that reads instructions and followed them to a T. I installed the software and it appeared to work. Clicked on the software to load profiles and  said mouse not detected so it wouldnt save my profiles. A few minutes into this I got a stop error and the comp crashed...locked up totally so after I got done kicking it I tried it all over....same result. Same thing happend with the copperhead.

I uninstalled the software and computer works fine...just have my old mouse.  Also if I delete the provided software mouse works but without all the features.

Anyone with any Ideas as to why this happened.

I bought a G7 once and it totoally did my head in, wouldn't connect, then would... then it wouldn't. Switched USB ports, would work for a while then stopped. RMA'd it and my new one has worked fine since for a couple of months without a hitch.

All I'm trying to say is don't write it off straight away if you like the product, as with all mass produced stuff you're bound to get the odd duffer out of every few million!

Try the newest software, drivers and firmware.

Failing that don't buy a Dell again lol, every single one at work throws a fit as soon as you try to change anything in it...

I tried updating to the newest drivers for the Habu but it just made it crash faster.....I dont want to jinx it but my dell has been awsome this is the first crash I have ever had.  The sales guy at the store I bought it from says his does the same thing but he dosnt care about the about being able to use the profiles...he just took the software off and is using it that way.

Most of the new USB mice are UBS 2.0 make sure there plugged into 2.0 ports?
~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?

I have double checked everything.....so I'm at a loss. I was just hoping someone else had purchased the same mouse and was able to figure it out...thanks anyway.
