Component. 3 video lines instead of 2 that is for S-video. S-video is crap in my opinion. Component may cost a bit more, but it's worth it.

But it has two video wires inside that cable, and the connectors are a bitch to make. With component, you have a separate cable for each video line, giving you better overall quality. Another ways to send video signals is with a 5 BNC VGA cable that has RBG Horizontal and Vertical. This can also be a 15 pin HD connector typically found on the back of a video card (DVI is more popular today, but it's not worth trying to solder your own DVI connector on; a 15 pin is hard, but doable). I used to terminate cables in my other job...

If I had it.  My dad got an S-video cable pretty cheap at a garage sale and we're using that instead of the crappy composite cable.  He was saying that it was supposed to better than Component, I think he was just trying to tell me that so I would forget about the component cables.

Component is way better. S-Video is just a shit US version of SCART (bit like the difference between NTSC and PAL), with a less stupid connector. It's all about digital video signals these days anyway, HDMI and DVI are the way to go.

That's pretty cool, video plus sound and it's better quality for both.  The best my 32" living room T.V. has is Component unfortunately.  My grandparents have this really nice widescreen plasma that has the DirectTV hi-def and it's  hooked into every slot on the back except for the HDMI slot.  Took them a year to finally work up the effot and call DirectTV to get the instructions on how to get the widescreen to not be distorted so now I know what it's REALLY supposed to look like.
