it´s kinda obsessive with the knife.. you slice someone then another.. and then you go nuts and charge everything you see. otherwise i try to restrain myself from going that knife-happy it sure does´nt help your game.
And allot of people prob. goes for the badges etc since you need 150 knife kills before you even can attempt the gold it ain´t that strange tons of people go frenzy. And i usually shoot people in the face to when they come running at me unless there are no other enemies in the neighborhood then i might join the party.

I love knifing, and I've had my gold for a long time, but I still find it fun to go on a shankfest from time to time. I've also killed my share of clarks and vosses. Just a matter of catching them off guard, or, a noob with extremely bad aim. If someone ends up killing me X number of times times (that exact number depends on my mood), especially in a row, I'll dedicate the round to getting their tags (multiple times usually), just for the fun/revenge part of it.
what i like to do is let them get close enough to taste blood then shotty them in the face from 3m just to piss them off

I only run into a crowd and start knifing if it is full of my clanmates. My signature on my clan's website is full of screnshots of me knifing everyone in the clan with the caption "Who's Next?" under it
i go knife only in servers quite often... its fun... lol, sometimes better than guns..

Fancy, I understand what you mean. I can't speak for all people, but perhaps I can shed some light on a few. I am one of those people who occasionally make a suicide run at someone from 100 yards in full view, wielding only a knife. The reason I do it: I think its funny. I don't care if I get wasted en-route, and if I make it to my target and get his/her tags...all the better. I've actually run straight towards walkers with my knife drawn just for the fun of it. Stats? Whatever...not my thing. Call me what you will, but each of us enjoys the game in our own way. When I chase after a tank with my knife, its almost my way of playing a joke on myself...of entertaining myself. I know that I'm going to get wasted, but its just a game, so its a small price to pay for a laugh. Mind you, I don't do this all the time; in fact, the only time I do it is when I'm tired, or had a few too many beer and am feeling silly. Also, I like to knife-fight and if I'm sprinting towards a walker and the driver of the walker gets out with his knife for a dual instead of spreading my guts all over the map...well...I can hearken back to older times....times of honor among men (hehehehe).
Sigh. For a moment I thought Fancy was back.
I'm guessing most people who do it (other than afrika_18) are probably 11 year olds who want to be like "Z0M6 I n00b3d u r0f1 1m@0 n0w I h@v3 ur d067@65 1015" in the chat.

What if they go Dirty Dancing on you hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ..................... thats when the knife attack becomes interesting
I did go abit mad to get the 300 require to go for the gold badge, did afew rounds with no other weapon than the knife, and came out with a KD over 1 in most of them, mainly due to a good squad backing me up(clan mates).
Anyhew back on subject, Before I went for my 17kills in a round, if someone was rite near me when I saw them, then yeah I would shoot them, if they where a distance of I would draw my knife and game on.
However after the the problems I had trying to get 17 Kills IAR for the gold badge, I thought f*ck it.
Its annoying when it's obvious to all what your trying to do and they seem to think "aha easy kills here guys", ok fare enough if thats how the 2142 comunity are going to be then fine, I got my gold badge now.
So I shoot them everytime, someone pulls a knife, I shoot them, why should I make it easier for anyone else to get the gold badge than it was for me.
I only knife people who either annoy me or if its real easy, looking the other way etc.

No what ive noticed is that they are starting to use teamwork to get your tags. The worst case of this was only last night. I had applied for commander as I still don’t have the ribbons or ex badges and the best way not to get stabbed is jump in the water, anyway these two guys were working together one on either side, they must have been in contact via teamspeak giving my position away while the one who joined the other side had gone commander so he could have the UV over him to make sure he was safe, even when I was in the water I wasn’t safe as his teammate would jump in and try and nudge me to the shore, when I was on land there he would be standing beside me as if joined to the hip and if I looked around there you would have him peering around the corner of a building or from a rooftop, just waiting for the moment they could jump and stab me, well they got me in the end but not before I got them and apparently they got you to Fancy_Pollux, it was some guy from NBK clan and one with esp as his tag. Ive also noticed clans adopting this which is worse as you have 3 or 4 idiots running at you with knives its like playing Resident Evil.
The funniest encounter was 2 days ago a player called Tagcollecter issued a challenge for a buddy request for my tags, of course how could I turn this down and as it would be 2 hours later he got me, now this guy was over the moon stating that he now had the top ten and that I had been the hardest to obtain as he had been trying for the last 6 days as ive adopted a strategy ' never stay still ', as it was at the end of the round the server crashed and he didn’t get the tags so what does he do? Blames me for the server crashing and stating that he had screenshots and was contacting EA, fair enough to say he still doesn’t have my tags but I know that a lot of you have, last count 500+
