Sorry if this problem has been posted before....

I *SHOULD* have just recieved my Gunnery Sgt rank according to BF2S but It didn't appear last night when I reached 8,000 pts?

This is what my stats page says:


Next Rank: Gunnery Sergeant

100%

Score: 8,080 of 8,000. At your historical rate, you should earn 0 in 0 days (or 00:00:00 straight).

Hopefully!

I logged out and logged back in just to try and give it a kick in the rear but nothing happened

I'm not too worried anyway as I wan't to wait for the new patch before choosing my unlocks

This happens because the server you're playing on, queries the stats servers every round you play

You start with 7940 points and end up with 40 points. Server submits.
New round. Server queries and because EA hasn't processed your stats from the last game it says 7940 points for your account.
Unless you make 60 points this round, you're not getting promoted.
The round ends with again 40 points for you. Server submits.
New round. Server queries and because EA still hasn't processed your stats, even not from the first game, it says 7940 points for your account.
New round. You start playing and getting pissed because you're not getting promoted and leave mid-round with 20 points.
At the end of his round the server submits your scored 20 points.
During the next hours EA processes your stats and you now have 8080 points.
The next time you connect to a server, EA will tell him, that you are Staff Sergeant with a score of 8080 points.
When you score 1 point the server will promote you.
And unless it submits your stats and EA has processed them, you get promoted every game you play.

Cheers for that!

It just suprised me because all my other ranks appear EXACTLY on the required points

For the previous rank (Sgt i think...) I actually counted the point down from 50 in one round, as I went around nailing people.

Its always interesting how you play close to a rank up...

Either you see red and go on a massive points spree, or those last 50 points seem impossible to get as you repeatedly die to the tank whores!!

If you enter a round with xy points to go for the promotion and score this amount of points you get promoted. If you score the points in several rounds and the stats servers are overloaded and can't process the stats in real-time it will take some time to show up.
