Yes, you can synthesise THC (the active ingredient of cannabis), but I warn against this as THC causes short-term memory loss and untold problems for the future.Dezerteagal5 wrote:
What would be interesting is, to see, if you could geneticaly engineer a plant that has the same effect as mari, but technicaly 'isn't cannabis' Therefore growing isn't illegal and neither is having it.
Then if they try to outlaw it, they would be going on what? effect alone? then you could say 'So why dont you ban alcohol, considering your banning things because they have an effect'
Its stupid. If the gov realized how much they could tax mari if it was legal... lol...
Lordy lord, that thing looks cool but how expensive? Think I'm gonna get me this one - nice and affordable!KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Really? Is it that good? Or is it just that the cheaper versions are very bad? It would be nice to know before I splash out many many hard earned pennies=) Oh and in response to the post above - I spend no cash other than the small amount I have to pay in electricity and materials on my small grow, and I do live on my own. Anything else?SuperSlowYo wrote:

He wasn't saying that. This particular guy said that he lives at home with his parents. Don't be so paranoid. Oh, I guess you can't help being paranoid, can you?SuperSlowYo wrote:

over 100,000 marijuana arrests in New York alone last year. Pot doesn't make you paranoid. the law does.chittydog wrote:

QFT. i will definetly drink to that. i mean how many accidents actually happen while being stoned. if they do you were probably going 5 mph anyways. i can say that in all my times riding while high. the only thing ive really done is get zoned out and drop about 10-20 mph. i've never had a, "Boy had i not been high i wouldnt have done that" type of situation.Mason4Assassin444 wrote:

Based on the latest information I've seen. That is incorrect.TheDarkRaven wrote:

Actually, cannabis has more carcinogenic (cancer causing) chemicals than tobacco!
As is that. Cannabis has been shown to make exsisting mental ilnesses worse, but there is absolutely no evidence that it causes mental illness of any kind.TheDarkRaven wrote:
On top of this, the active chemical that give you the 'high' (THC) is highly dangerous and can cause mental health problems (and does).
Based on both the latest information I've seen and personal experience of prolonged experience, though some people do experience memory problems, it is likely, as with other mental illnesses, that cannabis only makes an existing problem worse, it does not cause memory loss.TheDarkRaven wrote:

In fact, my memory is better now than before I started smoking cannabis - I remember things from my childhood that I know I never remembered before - specifically an operation I had as young child (tonselectomy (sp?)) - I only knew I had had that operation because I had been told, but just recently vague recollections of specific details that I did not know before have been coming back to me and I have confirmed there apparent accuracy with my mother.
Whilst one is stoned (i.e. under the influence of cannabis) then recalling even short-term memorys can be something of an effort. It this, wholly temporary effect, that gives rise to the popular myth that cannabis damages short-term memory.
