I'm trying to build my own computer here and any help or comments would be appreciated greatly.  If any changes need to be made I would like to keep the price relatively the same (lower if possible of course)

It looks perfect. But the ram do you plan to oc? If not get some ddr2-533 ram in order to keep the divider even it helps in some apps.

Ya, that board will suit you well for oc'ing, but if ur on a budget, you could go 650i and save a few bucks. I'd also recommend thinking about a second HD for a raid 0 configeration. If you put the two in raid 0 against just 1, the raid 0 would outperform by quite a bit, plus it's like having a wd raptor 10k, but 640gigs instead of just 150. (and 150 fills up fast I might add, i'm already down to only about 50 gigs left, and i've only had my rig since christmas)

Are you sure all the old Win 32bit (BF2, etc.) stuff will run on a 64bit system?!

If you're not sure then I'd go with WinXP-Pr 32bit.

looks very nice. You might want to consider going 32bit Vista. Unless you want more ram later on 32bit is currently still better supported. Also you could alternatively get 4 x 1GB Ram. Vista uses a bit more than XP and future games as well as games like SupCom (having 3000 units on the battlefield is a big strain on the memory sytem) need more than 2GB.
apart from that its a great system

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

The only problem with that is getting 4GB of ram costs about $500 more than 2GB

So i should go with 32bit Vista?  Does it make a big difference?  They cost the same as well, actually i think with combo deal the 64 bit Vista is cheaper.

why would it cost another $500? just get 2 times 2x1GB for 4 x 1GB. The advantage of 32 bit is that there are more and better drivers around. 64 bit is problematic when you get to not-so-mainstream hardware. Performance wise they are pretty identical. If you intend on upgrading the PC later on with more ram and/or transferring the OEM liscence to another/new PC get 64bit. otherwise stick with 32.

Winston where in canada do you live? If you live close to the american border you can just do what my buddy's uncle does, Set up a p.o. box and order from newegg ship it to there and pick it up. Also it helps to have a freind who lives in the states for account reasons.

I live north of toronto so about a 4-5 hour drive from the border, probably even longer for the border crossing.  Also i would have to go through the hassle of getting my parents to set it up so its really not worth it.  Thanks for th suuggestion though, ive thought of shipping it to my uncle and then to me but the S and H would probably cancel out any savings i might get.

it seems pretty expensive, although it's a good choice!
