this is not my first time where i ask for help - but anyone know about that study where a tribe who lived in thick jungle of Africa had little to no depth perception?

google isn't being my friend right now.

I know absolutely nothing about it, but I do have one question: How the fuck did they survive?

No depth perception seems like quite a handicap, especially if you hunt for food to live.

Nah, strabismus is the disorder afaik, but there was a tribe in the thick jungle who didn't develop depth perception due to seeing everytihng up close. when the researchers took them out to open fields they were scared because the elephants in the distance grew too fast.

You may be referring to the "Whaurthefukamma" tribe who couldnt see more than 3 feet ahead of them
Their name was taken from the fact that as they move through the jungle they continually say "whaurthefukamma ?"  (works in Scottish)
