Black Hawk Beta?

Okay, I'm confused. Help.
Ive never really asked/noticed WTF is with the Black Hawk in the early as screenshots before the game came out. And its in the preview movie, how there is a guy on the roof with a rocket, and the Black Hawk blows him up with a nade launcher or something. Just asking, was this beta or was it removed in a patch?
Ive never really known, since I started playing at patch 1.3 or something in April or so 2006.

The Black Hawk never had any other weapons apart from the miniguns, the picture you saw was a promotional shot before the game came out, here are some of the other things EA failed to deliver:
[*] EA said BF2 would feature 100 player maps, they delivered on 64% of that promise
[*] The Black Hawk had rocket pods! But obviously didn't make it into the game
[*] An amphibious lander that could transport tanks was designed, but never made it into the release version

also if you look at the back of your bf2 box, you will see that the image of the blackhawk is a beta pic, since it got rocket pods on the side.

To list the amount of stuff they left out could take a long time to write.
Some of them are:
- On the back of the box, karkand has a clear blue sky and no fog.
- Attack helis on Mashtuur (or a version of Mash)
- LCAC (the sea transport landing craft)
- Laser Designators for air strikes
- Map "Hingan Hills" (look in the localisation files)

...to name a few.

Anyone notice how funny the Soldiers on the back of the box look? Their heads are so tiny yet their arms are huge... looks hillarious...

I remeber first when I saw a vid of BF2 BETA with all those insurgent looking guys vs the USMC in ''Divided City''
it looked like a shit game tbh so i guess there is something good about this.

Plus if USMC had that BH + attack choppers it would be so unfair for the others teams. I dont get why MEC and PLA got some powerful guns on their transports when the BH used to own cause that too was unbalanced.

the load up screen in BF2CC alos had it and makes u think uif Dice WANTED the J10 to rule USMC in all maps

Isn't it funny how 3/4 of the pictures on the back of the box have things in them that aren't in the actual game.

Someone sue EA for False Advertising.

Mashtuur city was supposed to be the biggest map in the game originally... there was supposed to two airfields, and more command posts. There is a reason the village behind the hill and that huge bridge are out in the middle of nowhere. EA sort of decided to leave them there even though they had no use anymore

Hehehehe, yeah, they didn't make the box match the game!

On the other hand, if the Blackhawk did end up having rockets, people would have used those rockets to get kills in the game. This would have led to more accusations about "whoring" and such. EA, recognizing this, had the developers just leave them off so they wouldn't have their ears chewed off by a bunch of people calling out "whore" and "fix the BH" and.........If there were a balancing problem with the choppers we'd all have to really hope that their sense of when to commission a patch, and for what, was a whole lot better than thier sense of what to put on the back of the box!
