Try googleing the name of your mobo.  That always leads to good results.  If you don't know the name of your mobo, download CPU-Z and it'll tell you.

if you tell me the name and model number i can tell you the ram type. if you have a pentium four or AMD equivalant, i can tell you now that its almost definately ddr400(pc3200) and if you have an AM2 or core2 duo or greater its probably drr667 or 800.

Try Crucial's System Scanner:

*EDIT*

Your mobo will take PC3200 DDR.

Any DDR RAM will work in your board.

Your motherboard supports DDR400/333/266. That's PC3200, 2700 & 2100, all common speeds. If the stick you have doesn't work then it's either the wrong kind(DDR2 probably), it's a bad stick or something is wrong with your mobo.

Probably Both DDR sticks, but different speeds. Sometimes they don't work together. Try putting the 1gb strip you have closest to the CPU.

Care to explain how you came to this diagnosis? If what you say is true the only other possible explanation is a PEBCAK error.

Ok heres the numbers and shit..

It is a 1GB of Kingston PC 3200 ram (which doesnt work on my m'board)

I have currently installed is 2 * 512 generics PC 3200 ram

Ive tried it without the 512 sticks, tried it on another motherboard of mine and it did work but not on another one i have also, i know for sure the 1GB stick works because mydad is using it right now in his pc for playing games.

So can anyone please help find me a website or find out what 1GB sticks of ram i can take on a Asus K8V-MX.

DDR400/333/266

DDR400 (PC3200) preferably.

Keep in mind if it is dual channel you have to match it with the same.
