And gyms are that cheap over there, You can't get a member ship for under 80 dollars over here and can't pay on a day by day basis. Which is bull shit.
For us Americans, SAS = Navy SEALs (or something more extreme, if you can think of it)
Yeah I heard that the SAS train the Navy SEALS.

Watch Ultimate Force if you're interested in the SAS,it's onITV4 on Sunday at around 10PM

Ross Kemp is in it.

You should talk to them and get a job there doing some cleaning and sorts for free membership.. Work something out with the employee you see there the most.

Try to become friendly then approach him by working out a trade of cleaning up the towels and whipping down the machine's when you're there for access to the gym. If it's a decent place the guy should go for it.

So, having gone to the gym a couple of times before, I decided to start up a regime to build up my fitness so when my 18th comes, I'm a machine. Doesn't sound like a bad plan?
Good Idea, i'm doing the same

TO be blunt, yes that is why, but if you intend to go regularly, get a mebership, in no time you will work through the membership fee and get even more out of it trust me

Wikipedia FTW once again...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Air_Service

If you don't want to read about it: (from bottom of text)
United States - The US Army 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D (A)), commonly referred to as Delta Force, was based on the SAS.
uhhh...ok? what're you trying to make of this?

he's making the point that thats who the SAS are roughly equal to in the american Army which may be well known to the person who asked.

also Usmarine (i think it was you) who asked for conversion. its almost 1:2 now. so 1 pound is 2 dollars.

Right, here's my fuckin rant. This is actually the first time I've ever been so angry at something.

Right. I'm 16, wanna join SAS when I'm older. So, having gone to the gym a couple of times before, I decided to start up a regime to build up my fitness so when my 18th comes, I'm a machine. Doesn't sound like a bad plan?

So, I get home, and do my homework. That comes first in my opinion, so I do it. This takes me until half 5. So then I decide to go to the gym, burn off a few hundred calories. I thought the normal price for me (full-time education) would be £2.50, as it was the last time I went. So I go up to the desk and ask to go into the gym. Guess what she fucking says:

"£6.60 please"

I just froze. I got out my ID to show I was in education, but she said that tthe card was only usable before 5. BEFORE FUCKING 5? WHY? Geez, is it because the fucking ofice workers don't want little kids to come and put them off?

Fucking hell, I'm 16, it's not like I've got a gang of mates with me wantin to screw up the place. I have to pay "£6.60" every time I go for my future career? Yes, I can do running, but not weights. Fucking hell, is there a plausible explanation for this shit? Think they wanna keep the chavs out, but even then, it's not like i wanna cause trouble. Fuckin gay.

Thts my rant over, but even so I had to walk away humiliated with only £3 in my pocket. Their membership rates are shit as well, and this is a well known organisation in Edinburgh.

FFFFFS!!!! I punched a door.

Sorry for all the swearing, wanna get it off my chest.
One of the reasons the SAS kick so much arse is, of course, that it's full of angry Scotsmen.  Just like this guy.

See, you're on track already!

Joking aside, as people have said if you're actually going to go regularly, membership is the way to go.  Or, try the "work out for cheap" option, there's probably lots of resources available if you trawl the 'net.  Think about joining a club for an intensely physical sport, like boxing or rugby.

One last thing, though.  You're still 16, right?  If you've still got a significant growth spurt left in you, be careful about packing on too much muscle.  Get some advice from a professional trainer on it.  What age do you need to be to join the TA, and can you go from that into the regular Army?
