Even if the two were the same size, the viewsonic has the better specs.
They both seem fine. Personally, I'd go with the Samsung. It's smaller, but the picture quality is better. I have a Samsung 19" now and it looks great.
Edit: Let me rephrase part of my post. I haven't compared the picture on these two exact monitors, but in general, I prefer the picture on Samsungs to ViewSonics.

I have the ViewSonic, and it's pretty good IMHO. It's got DVI, which the Samsung doesn't, the response time is better and widescreen is nice.
I have no direct personal experience of either monitor, but the specs are much better on the ViewSonic, so I'd go with that (or if you don't need widescreen (who doesn't need widescreen?), get the equivalent 4x3 version)
er more than just size matters ... although the 19" is the better mainly due to the 5ms response time vs. the 8ms response time and the contrast ratio is better on the 19" also. The only caveat is, can you mange having the 1440 x 900 ratio?CoronadoSEAL wrote:

19inch is better...
True, but I could never go back to having a 17" monitor. Those 2 inches make a big difference.jsnipy wrote:
