Google Earth/Fraps

I thought I would try and see if Fraps would record Google earth activity. Turns out it does. So you movie makers who would like a "fly-in" can take advantage of this. Google earth pro does this on it's own but I think it is $200 USD. I'm doing a commercial website right now and I'm going to fly in to the location of some property for sale.

Oh yea, and check out what I found on the runway at Macdill AFB..

Hard to tell at that resolution. Macdill is primarily a refueling wing... however this weekend it will be hosting the F-22 Raptor. http://www.macdillservices.com/myairfest/

I lied, looks like we're both wrong. Looks kind of like an F-16, which is pretty much standard for an American airbase.

it is an f-16, it only has one tail fin and doesnt have the delta wing like the f-35

I've tried Frapsing Google Earth (on accident once) and it's amazing how it works. I used it in a history project about the Aztec and the Inca, and I zoomed onto Machu Picchu (it wasn't the best of quality, but it works nonetheless). One thing I found out is that if you take the .avi file straight from the Fraps folder and try to run it on another computer, it's going to require the Fraps codec to run. Just thought that would be helpful in case anyone was going to do a project like my own.

You just need to pick a good format. WMV's seem to hold a decent picture while keeping the files smaller. http://d2.myfreefilehosting.com/d2/Paris.wmv (Right click and save target/save link as)

Erm.....are you even looking at the same photo? It clearly has twin tail fins and the wing is delta, although not all the way to the bcak, just like, oh I don't know, an F15 perhaps?

Off topic a fraction though, I recently saw the last few minutes of a 60 minutes episode in Aussie that showed they are looking at getting the F35B in. Lucky sods. Our Air Force doesn't even have jets any more. Friggin tree-hugging pacifist labour government.
