I just ranked up to Sergeant Maj. the other day, but the in-game global score bar hasn't reset. The bar is still full and in the top left it shows my next rank as sergeant major of the corps. I didn't even think they gave that rank anymore. Any help or advice would be appreciated thanks.

Every Sargeant Maj. has Sergeant Major of the Corps as their next rank.
It used to be warded to the Sergeant Major with the highest global score.
But EA scrapped it and now you will just go to 2nd Lt.

whats your in-game name?
the rank has been retired when they put in the new officer ranks. When the rank existed you need the highest score of the month which as around 150000. One guy in Japan had the rank but when he logged in again he was automatically ranked up to Colonel. I wonder though if someone would play on a server that ran the original game unpatched and reached the 150000 points needed would they be made Sergent Major of the Corps.

My in-game name is sniper14M also. On bf2s it shows my next rank as second lieutenant but the in-game screen says of the corps.

It's just a glitch in the game that's never been fixed. Just pretend it says "2nd Lieutenant."

Messed up stats by the look of it.
As new ranks were added in patch whatchammacallit, and the requirements for SgtMaj were lowered from a brazillion points to a mere 50K, The guys at DICE didn't see it as important to fix BFHQ in a way that after SgtMaj, the "next rank"-box would show 2nd Lt. Instead, it keeps on saying SMotC.
It starts working "normally" when 60 000 and the rank of 2nd Lt is reached. It will then show "Next rank: 1st Lt".
