It truely isn't a big deal. Anyone who as to play on these servers should get some help or just learn how to play the game.
I would suspect such servers are created when they are abandoned by the clan that rented it.Kinda like K/P servers.Just someting funny to do when your just gonna let the server expire anyway.
What's the point of complaining? I agree with those who are in the 'who cares' camp. Why stat pad? to get more points. Why get more points? well, aside from having a bigger e-penis, what else do you get? Priority over others for commander and unlocked guns... big deal.
1) the unlocks are all about preference, not power, its a choice not a cannon.
2) commander? tsssst, I'm only a first sgt and I could have commanded in most of the games I have played lately, people don't apply until later, after the round starts because nobody wanted to do it that badly. If you can't have fun just because you can't be commander then go play somewhere else or just wait. chances are, if you if you have a guy who really likes to be the commander, its because he's good, let him do it, you'll be thankful.

I went on one just for fun after a while you get very bored with regular game play and decide to have fun. Yet most people think killing a guy sitting there isint fun but its entertaining. I made a padding only account to see how long EA will take to reset it got all the way up to lance corpal in 1 round lol. Might as well do something when ur bored either way it doesnt bother anybody...
My answer to knife/pistol/defibrillator servers is simple: Claymores.
I pad all the time and havent got reset yet lol.OakLeaves wrote:

I got reset without padding (have no idea why, they refuse to tell me) so i hope people pad their asses off! I think padding only servers is brilliant! Then people wont pad where i play
Padding is gay, im going to BFROE and turning ne one i see on them servers in.

Padding is only an issue if you keep playing on servers where people are padding/cheating or you actually go around looking at other people's stats with envy.
It's quite easy to overcome this: just stop playing on bad servers and find a good few, and dont worry about anyone's stats other than your own.

I tell you what, If there was no ranking system, there'd be NO padders. The ranking system is what made this game addicting, but also ruined it at the same time. Who wants teamwork when you can just jump in a J10 and get 50 kills without even trying.
To prove my point, how many of the 4 star general hasn't padded in some sort of way. The only possible way for some joe-smoe who only plays 15 hours a week (It's still a lot in my opinion) to get a rank that high is to pad. If there was no ranking system, or possibly a different way of deciding the rank, there'd be absolutely no padders. Honestly, how many non-ranked servers do you see that have stat-padders in ?

No if ea and dice actually cared about bf2 and weren't shitty coders they could fix these issues easy.Drexel wrote:

The problem isn't with the ranking system, the problem is with gamers' perceptions of what are 'important' stats. Take for instance, the jet whore. He may have a great KD ratio, but he has no team points. He has no team points because he isn't helping his team much. He TK's 1 of his own teammates for every 4 enemies that he kills, and never helps capture a flag.Drexel wrote:

I personally try to get my Win/Loss ratio up, followed by K/D ratio, followed by SPM. But I know there are tons of people out there who only care about making the top 10, tons that only care about SPM, and tons that only care about K/D ratio. They just don't look at the whole picture. Whatever, it's their preference. I'm proud of my stats, and know that I contribute to my team in a team-based game, and contribute to my clan in matches. That's all that matters.
No offense, but how do you code against this? If you make it you don't get revive points after say 3 revives of some guy, what happens to those guys who actually revive a guy that many times legibly. (I've done it. Some guy on a mounted MG kills my mate, I revive him behind the wall so that he has a chance to run, he dies, repeat, eventually he gets away without any deaths)The_Killer wrote:

They made it where you stop getting repair points if you repair the same guy more than 5 (I think) times. So now there's a huge fight about how these points are too hard to get now. I stand by my thoughts that the ranking system is what is killing this game. Look at any game that doesn't rank.
My example is Medal of honor, Spearhead (Another game that I have great experience in). You see in matches people setting up ambushes, DEFENDING a point, and not sitting for hours killing each other over and over for the kill counter. As soon as that round is over, you're back to 0 score.
I do agree that the ranking system is what makes this game enjoyable for many people, and if there was no ranking system, many wouldn't play it. But at the same time, it encourages people to pad like this just so they get some pretty badge or rank that they think they earned. I am proud to say that I never padded (Not even to get my expert repair) and never been on a K/P server, EVER.
Congrats you've never padded before. Nobody cares really.Drexel wrote:

The ranking system is what's keeping the game alive. Some people here forget they're on a website where it's based on stats. If you think the ranking system is stupid go to another bf2 board and complain there.
Unless your trying to get into the top 10 or get into the top 50 to get your 4 stars you shouldn't care about other peoples stats.
*If it wasn't for stats there wouldn't 5545 servers according to game monitor.
*If it wasn't for stats nobody would want to play commander for the command points.
*If it wasn't for stats there would be more team killing on servers because people wouldn't care about messing up their stats or losing points.
*If it wasn't for points no one would cap flags.
*If it wasn't for stats there would be no medics.
*If it wasn't for stats nobody would repair assets.
Think about how much the game is dependent on stats. I'm really happy about stats and it's one of the main reasons I'm still playing the game. It's nice to see how far you've come and how you are doing overall.

But alas, nothing has come out of your effort, has it? EA took over BFROE a couple of months ago, which pretty much means they no longer care.the_highlander09 wrote:

Padding only servers are boring. Throwing nades out of a blackhawk gets old fast.

*Seriously it's a fucking game why would you waste your time trying to get a little picture or seeing a picture by your name change?
OR
*It's a fucking game why do you care how other people play if it doesn't affect you?
Do you get paid by EA or something that you feel you must mess up what other people have put time into?the_highlander09 wrote:

I'm going to report the next piece of art I see of some stupid obscenity rule to see someone else's hard work destroyed just for the feeling of knowing that I made a piece of art without obscenity.

I think the best thing to do is just leave people to their own devices. If they want to pad then let them, other people's ranks and stats should not affect you. Just find a server that mirrors your style of play (pad or tk or fair) and just enjoy. Who cares what other people get up to as long as your playing how you want to and your having fun. Paddy the padder can knock himself out getting his 4 stars for all I care!
