Where do they get off attempting to steal land? I find it hard to understand any kind of blind religion-based extremism, whether it be Islamic or in this case, Zionist.

How would Americans feel if say a bunch of Mexicans set up a town in Southern California, Nuevo Mexico, declaring it part of Mexico?

How would Brits feel if Spanish fishermen decided to set up a colony in Cornwall, claiming it for the Spanish crown?

When will these fuckers ever learn?

Some Zionist religious nutters who had been thrown out of the Palestinian West Bank months ago by the Israeli government crept back in to set up a village again.

You know what would be real fun?  If that Zionut we use to have were here and we could ask him to explain the difference between Zionism and Manifest Destiny.

Are there any Americans living in Southern California?

Ok Cameron, you hate that Israel took the palistines land years ago, saying it was their ancestral land etc. I agree it is a shit thing to do. but on a smaller scale perhaps these jews don't give a shit about the past and are only looking at their own liftimes, and just want to return to their homes.
it doesn't make them evil or nessesceraly bad people. everyone can't be held responsable for the decisions of their government, the Irish government aggreed to give englad the 6 counties does that make every southern irish person guilty of betraying their northern cousins ?

I think returning to their homes is kind of what the Palestinians want to do.

Then again, I'm no expert, it could be a 24/7 party in the camps.................

The point is that they were homes they should never have had in the first place - built illegally on land that was not theirs under international law. And as Bubbalo said - perhaps the several million Palestinian refugees in neighbouring countries would like to just 'return to their homes' in what is now Israel...

As do I.

No. It makes them stupid, inconsiderate, selfish, criminal, immigrants. I am glad to see the Israelis have acted quickly to remove them. It's lucky the Palestinians didn't abduct them for trespassing in Palestinian territory (a la  Iran).

No it doesn't.

It is not a case of people supporting the decisions of their government. If they disagree with the decision they are well within their rights to protest about it. Not on foreign soil though - that's a stupid, dangerous and provocative thing to do.

Crept in?
"The protesters, most of them youths, walked to the ruined settlement on Monday under the protection of the Israeli army."
They were ushered in by the army and  beat outta there by the police. Big division between the Military and the civilian police force by the looks of things. And they constantly whinge about how the Palestinians can't agree with each other.

I think that means the army were onsite originally. This would seem in line with typical Israeli withdrawal scenarios. I don't think it means the army escorted the protesters.

The protesters turned up at the settlement, which was guarded by Israeli military forces, who very likely contacted the police to arrange for the removal of the protesters. The Israeli government can't really be faulted for their reaction to this incident.

Why didn't the army prevent them from entering?

Further, why weren't they arrested?

Yeah WTF? As an analogy does the American right to free assembly and free speech allow an American citizen to march into Mexico or Canada and lead a protest? The land was ceded back to Palestine was it not? Should the Israeli's protests not have been limited to areas that were not seen as having been given back to Palestine?

It's 8500 people. That's a lot. I find it difficult to believe that no arrests will have been made, but there is no way the Israelis would arrest 8500 citizens for protesting.

They deployed riot police and got rid of them. I'm quite an outspoken critic of the Israeli government in most cases, but this is not an incident they deserve blame for (although really the Israeli military presence should not be there and the Palestinians should have been allowed to resettle the area and deal with the protesters as they saw fit - in accordance with international law of course).

So, you focus on the extremist desire to settle and ignore the governments forced resettling of them?

I get called names for this kind of post.

Settlers are dumbasses.  The same is true of Islamists.

I wish we could just kill all of both groups.  The world would be a better place without either of them.

Then again, I guess such actions and views would make me an extremist as well.  Maybe we can start an extremist group against extremists...  lol

Yes, the "civilized" world keeps land as "spoils of war."  We should have annexed Germany and Japan too.
