Really i think its only 2 choices, 360 or Wii. Wii is cheaper, and that controller is fun. 360 has a lot of upsize, but after having owned the original xbox, i'm moving onto the Wii. I use my PC for "heavier" games, and I don't need a console thats super duper powerfull for anything. If i'm going to spend time playing console games, chances are it'll be sometime when i'm drunk and just want to have fun.
Poll
Which one should I get?
XBox 360 | 45% | 45% - 92 | ||||
Nintendo Wii | 23% | 23% - 47
Playstation 3 | 30% | 30% - 62

I say the only reason to own a console is for the exclusive games, and innovative technologies. I don't see the point in owning a console for the superior graphics, when my PC can rival any console system out on the market right now. And there won't ever be any (legal) version of any Nintendo games for the PC.
The X-Box 360 and PS3 will have most of their games debuting on PC at the same time, and the rest will follow shortly after, with better graphics I might add (Also, I haven't seen ANY good games for PS3).

If you want a few really top notch games, get a Wii.
If you want lost of games, but most of them crap, get either 360 or PS3.
How to choose between them? 'fraid only you can answer that one - it's swings and round-abouts - depends what you want from a console - 360 is more of a 'games console' - PS3 is more of a 'multmedia system' - Long term, the PS3 games should shit all over 360 (at the moment they're about par) - 360 is cheaper.

Not everyone in here have a super PC, well at least I don't, so tbh getting a console which last for about 10 years, is better than upgrading a pc every year!
And for the guy who said, no games for the PS3 YET, well what do u expect bro? Its been out here since friday!, so that doesn't really make any scene.
For me wii, is the last console I will think about getting, as i don't really have any interest in playing such games. Although I am looking forward to play Big Little Planet, on teh PS3, which is similar/ if not better than most of the wii Cartoon games.
My first choice will be PS3, and hopfully I will get one in the summer!
Laters!

Well, a console won't ever look as good as a PC - the resolution of a TV screen is just too low. Plus, a computer allows you to do all the stuff you can with a console, and more!rabee2789b wrote:

Also, I like the Vista look.
Get a 360.
i got the 360 last week just because of this poll
Wii = Hahahaha that crap is ridiculous xD
Xbox360 = The epic console, better price, better games, better graphics, mediacenter compatible, great design (upgraded version on the way (black edition) to beat PS3 in hardware and design)...
PS3 = Dull games, high price, shitty controller, ugly design... (yeah yeah i'm going to get flamed for that comment, who cares)
PC = Winner, no console will ever beat the upgrade-ability and power of a PC...

how can you say that there are great games on wii ?? it has ugly graphics, dull games (most of them for kids or old people) and gets bad reviews all over the place...
and btw the Xbox360 is the media and games console,, the PS3 is the wannabe...
erm no?! after 3 years the PS3 will be crap.... that's the same expiration date as a mid-end PC...rabee2789b wrote:

ehh? 3 years? How many years did the PS2 last? since 2000, and developers are still releasing games unlike the xbox games which I can hardly see any new games. Now with the power for PS3, I would expect it to last for at least 10 years. lol u gotta think before u post!ShawN_ wrote:

BTW, do u even own a PS3? u can't judge a console before u play it. Hmmm crap games? well its been out in here for around 4 days, and the launch titles are already>than the 360 once, at least better than the 360 launch titles.

Games are not all about graphics. Nintendo continuously win industry awards, year after year. That is because they make award winning AAA, five-star, top-billing games. And they make them for only one console. The graphics may not be cutting-edge, but the gameplay is.ShawN_ wrote:

WHAT?! if the 360 was a media console it would have come with HD-DVD built-in. It's a games console with media capabilities. The PS3 is media console with gaming capabilities.ShawN_ wrote:

erm no?! The PS2 is still a 'current' console. The PS3 will still be very much a current console when it's 10years old. Also the PS3 is, by all accounts, a bitch to code for - PS3 coders are only just getting to grips with the awesome power of the cell processors. And just look at what they're producing! The PS3 launch games are easily on par with 2nd generation XBOX360 games. It's the 360 that will be crap in 3years time, not the PS3.ShawN_ wrote:

To further this debate: I've got a PS3, had it for about two months so far, so let me say a few things about it. First and foremost, I love it, and I think it was worth the money.
Hard drive: 20 gigs is not enough, especially when games cache data on the HD usually. Luckily the operating system is included as firmware, and is not on the HD, so a swap is easy (I plan on doing this eventually; it's only an SATA notebook HD).
Graphics: this is where the big debate is. I have a 30" HDTV that supports 1080i, 720p, 480i, and it looks damn nice on that. My computer can't display games in that clarity. However, the console is limited, not going to lie. There may be higher res textures, but I can already see the polygon limitations. However, things are relatively smooth, and there are nice lighting effects. FPS drops are game dependent, as everything plays smooth on Resistance FOM, while Blazing Angels is horrible at times. Also, they are removing the PS2 chip and are going to use an emulator in the future for PS2 games, which will allow upscaling (still a rumor at this point in time). As time goes on, the devs will better understand how to code for the PS3, and the games will continue to get better. As an example, GT4 for the PS2 looked gorgeous, almost as good as a next gen game (made late in the PS2's life).
I purchased the PS3 for the game selection, plain and simple. (That and playing in HD is nice; it really takes full advantage of my TV's capabilities). Resistance FOM is worth the money, GT5 will be getting released by the end of the year, the Final Fantasy series should put out some nice games, Ratchet and Clank, etc. The PS3 exclusive games make it worth it for me. PC's will always be ahead in the graphics race, so don't buy this, or any, console if you're looking for the best visuals on the market, because you won't get them. Instead, make the purchase based on what you would like to play the most. I wanted to continue to play my PS2 games, as well as get the most recent titles in the series that I love.
P.S. I have the full intention of getting a *gasp* Wii in a couple of years, because it looks fun as hell.

Remember Me As A Time Of Day
For me 360 has already lost the consoles war. At the start they said "Why would you need HDMI for a console" and now they releasing a new 360 http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/pres … itePR.mspx . lol WTF? Its basically the same one, but witha a bigger HDD, HDMI out and Black WOW. Releasing a new version of a console after 2 years, aint that helpful for consumers!
Go turn in a gun in mexico and get a free 360.
To all those who say 360 games "pwn" PS3 ones, it's because the 360 has been out for a year. The 360 lineup was pathetic: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox360launchgames.htm
Got a 360, LOVE it. Many games (more then the other 2 together). Good MP set up, and more bang for the buck.
Got a PS#, best ever imo. Tech moster, cheapest bluray player on the market. 6 axis controler( wich is really cool, and even cooler then the Wii's) Most "capable" of the 3, but lacks titles to play. Only 2 downfalls for this sytem. Price, and lack of games. Both should come about in time, and dominate the industry like the PS2.
WII, no thank you. It lures you in with a gimmicky control system that gets old really fast.
