I needs the help with IRC

I downloaded the program XChat to go onto the IRC. When I try connecting to gamesurge, this shows up:

Connection failed. Error: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine

Who knows what's wrong?

P.S. I know that there's another thread like this one, but I don't want to get flamed for a nice little revive.

Xchat? is that the regular IRC program, from www.mirc.com ?

Yeah, I tried that. When I get to the screen where you choose a server, though, Gamesurge doesn't show up. Naturally, I added it, but after that, it doesn't connect, and I get the message from the OP.

Firewall? They often have an option to block IRC, by default on Zone Alarm IRC is blocked.

I lowered ZoneAlarm's Internet Zone Security down to medium, but it still won't work. Now it goes on about being unable to find the gamesurge server. Grah, this is taking too much thinking.

Nope, it still can't find the server. It thinks that I misspelled it. Ah well. I'll just try another program. Thanks for the help guys.
