I just got kicked from a server for saying: "Good work, neoSElsdon. Now we need to defend our asset base, or we'll lose everything again."

The Punkbuster message was along the lines of: "Kicked by Punkbuster (admin decision). Reason was bad language: ASS* ** (1 minute)."

What the fuck is wrong with server admins who activate wildcard language filters? I've seen people get away with typing "f*ck you c*nt", but I utter the forbidden word asset and I'm dumped. The bugs and quirks in BF2 are really beginning to piss me off.

lol, yeh sux when that happens, been kicked from IRC channels for similar things . Ain't a game fault though, its the admin's fault for what they set the parameters as.

Yeah, I know that one's the admin's fault.

But BF2 does have some quirks that are gradually sending me to the asylum. Such as having to click / press buttons more than once to get them to have an effect. (Especially the parachute button. I have to hit that rapidly five or six times to get a damned 'chute to open.) Maybe my creaking old P4 2.4GHz.

Yeah, many suicides with the '9' button not responding, even got a new keyboard and still doesn't work; thank goodness there are medics around to revive me when my chute doesn't open... riiiiight.

I don't get it. It's a game about killing each other, and capturing other people's land by force. Why is saying "oh, shit, I fucked that up" such a crime compared to gunplay?

And I don't know who programmed the key input buffer, but it's got real problems. I'm sure the reason I've been jettisoned from jets before was because sixty seconds ago I'd been typing a sentence in the chat field, and that sentence had an E in it. What's the chance of this input buffer bug being miraculously fixed in version 1.2?

I'd say its more likely u accidently tapped e after taking ur finger of w to slow down for a bombing run or to stay on someones tail, n then have gone to put ur finger bac down n tapped the wrong key.

As to the parachute key been slow, my guess is the reason it doesn't open for u, is u press the key at the wrong time, or are trying to use it from to low a jump. The chute will not open till after u have been falling a certain distance. U can spam the parachute key as much as u like, and it's not going to open ur chute till ur past that distance. I've I no longer get any problems from a chute failing to open, because I have the needed hieght down pat, and no roughly wen I can press the chute key.

punkbuster can kick you for saying the word "damn." but when you use the comma rose and click on sorry, it says "damn, im sorry." wtf??
