I agree, that commanders should be able to fight when needed behind their own lines, but not upfront.
What a duchebag admin, did you screenshot the kick screen? That would be funny.

This is a rant.
So to everyone: A commander who gives UAV, scans, spot enemies outside the uav and occasionally kills someone should NOT be kicked. Commanders who take the position, then idle, go the bathroom for a number 2, buy groceries for diner that evening SHOULD be kicked.
[/rant]
Feel free to convince me that I am wrong, that a commander should be kicked if he shoots one bullet.
I always do some fighting when I command, hehehe
>>>BF3 Central<<<
i was in an attack Helli as gunner and the pilot tried capturing a flag in it and he was also commander i got annoyed and told him not to do that and now I'm banned from that server, for complaining, i didn't swear i didn't shout, i was only able to type so i didn't yell through the mic, meh it was a shit server.
EDIT: i haven't commanded for about a month and when i did it was for the high points then i realised i preferred to actually fight.

I get in a safe place thats got a 80% chance or higher that I won't be killed by arty fire. I then periodicly check to see if anyones nearby and I'll spot him, eliminate him, and go back to commanding.
USMC
Karkand - The Dumpster (Engineer)
Mastuur City - Around the Clusters of Trees (Sniper)
Jalalabad - Watch Tower Closest to Arty (Sniper)
Gulf Of Ohman - Just Below Deck of Carrier (Medic)
Sharqi Peninsula - In the Uper part of Stairwell in TV Station (Sniper)
and so on and so forth... I could keep going but Im sure your not interested I just felt like doin this.
Jesters got it allllll planned out *Taps head* riiight here.

I agree commanders should be able to defend.
If my team suck with capping and holding flags I allways go and fight and by time i give arty and uav of course.
Commander is armed with a weapon SO ! ... needs to defend him self OR engages the enemy when nessesary

I think you did what's expected from you. Since you're the commander, you should be a good example for the rest of the team, which you are when defending flags and yourself!
Keep u the good work!!!

I think that commeanders should be able to defend themselves or if a flag is needed to get some supplies or someething like that.
Some people hate commanders that fight because they have had too many bad experiences with that setup. Either the commander fails to command while on the front line (causing the team to lose their support) or the combination of kills and team points gets the commander a huge score which makes everyone else on the team jealous.
I personally do both when it calls for it. I think a few guys in here have already cited examples of when people on the enemy team get behind your lines and go for a flag that is close to your position. When they do that I get involved in the combat. I think its perfectly reasonable to give up a minute of commanding to stop them from capping a flag and being able to spawn their troops at a new position. You might get some complaining from fellow teammates but it might save them from being attacked from two fronts.

Most definetly agree.
And what about a low populated server? Every man counts. A commander just sitting there doing nothing but the commanding is actually hurting your team. They need to be defending those back flags and such.
I only take commander if the one previous sucked, and no one else is stepping up, or it is empty. When it is empty I ask everyone if they mind me fighting and commanding because it was empty. No one has eer said no.
On a side note. I was playing Wake last week as commander for USMC. My piot was a Lieutenant. He was a very good pilot. I stayed in command mode while we were flying around and he would alert me to soemthing to shoot when needed. Did he like doing this? He must have, he came and got me every time we had to bail and I survived. The rest of the team? They loved it. They had great support, and no tanks or choppers to worry about. Me TV shootin is gettin bettr. Of course this was a server with about 14 to 18 people in it.

"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation" - Barack Obama (a freshman senator from Illinios)
I think that Commanders need to be able to defend themselves and only take strategic flags. If they go out and are killing everybody in sight then they need to stop being commander and be an infantry unit. This would stop all of the complaining about commanders and would be easy to play.
55% of the losses is from a commander fighting, 30% is from your team is full of idiots, and the other 15% are snipers on your team... Think about it...
You've done nothing wrong my freind!
Most admins are noobish bad-losers and childish retards!
Thats just how it is, sadly
