It tastes like burning

Get this album NOW. Holy sweet mother of Jebus is it amazing. It's as good, if not better, than their previous album Through the Ashes of Empires. It's also, nothing like The Burning Red or Supercharger, and that's a good thing (IMO) since both of those albums had around 3 good tracks between the two of them. So far my favorite tracks are "Now I Lay Thee Down" and "Beautiful Mourning".

If you're a Machine Head fan, or a metal fan in general, then you owe it to yourself to get this album as soon as you can.

I agree. This is definitely one of Machine Heads best albums. In some way, Through the Ashes of Empires still works better for me, but this can be because of not listening to The Blackening enough.

Buy it, love it.

Will have to take a look at this, is it the same as the other machine head stuff or different.

I think only really listened to burning red album quite a few years ago.
The main reason i ask is that i kind of went of heavy metal type of music and started listening to FNM and system of a down (i don't class SOAD as heavy)

Oh yeah. I heard it last week when my friend was showing off his pre-release rip of the album in the car. They're claiming it's their Master of Puppets, and they actually have the analogy spot-on. I would so buy it if I had any money.
Instead, I resolve to grab the rips off said friend, and buy the album when I get a job.

I saw them live in South Dakota with Lamb of God and Trivium over spring break. It was ok.

Did this band steal its name from Deep Purple's 1972 album Machine Head?

It's inspiration.

However, I doubt it. They aren't very prog-rock, and 'machine head' is a very industrial-ish term, suiting their music just fine.
