a month after I fully stop playing BF2, with only a guide left to finish, I finally realise how to make missles hit a J-10.
problem:
missles fail to turn fast enough to hit the hitbox, but fast enough to go through the back of the J-10, which is 'unhitboxed'. This is both because of the bad placing of the heat source (the bit that missles fly at) and the hitbox.
solution:
force missles to turn down TOWARDS the heat source. force them to have to do their best to turn down fast enough to not go in front of the jet. You're effectively reversing the scenario: instead of missles not being able to turn fast enough to reach the heat source in the back of the jet, and thus undershooting the hitbox, they're not turning fast enough to actually reach the heat source and thus hit the hitbox in front of it.
I'm a retard for not realising this. honestly, after looking for ways for so long.
as for the people who don't understand what this means:
have your missles go DOWN to hit a J10. Keep your nose high. get close (otherwise missles will go behind the J-10 again) and fire. Missles fire from the bottom of your jet, thus keep yourself above the J-10.
I've just tried this for a few rounds on dalian and got a way higher hit rate against J-10's than normal.
remember to combine this with the no-lock-on trick explained in my guide
EDIT: for a more clearer example, have a pretty picture: clicky.
