whoring doesn't exist
who cares if somebody keeps taking the jet or the tank or the whatever, who cares if you've been sitting on the runway for ten hours waiting for the jet or tank and then when it spawns the same guy takes it - there's a reason you had to wait so long. get the hell off of the runway newbie and help me cap a flag, i'm being shot at and i need more ammo - to me you're just one more person that's not in the cap zone or responding to my medic requests. Somebody went out and purchased the game and they're there to play it - they may have bought it soley to play in vehicles - you may have too! in any case why should anyone else care? Listen dudes and dudettes: i don't understand how some of you look at stats and say "oh that person is a whore." what standard is used? "well that person isn't a whore, they need seven more minutes in a plane and a higher k/d ratio." Just shut up. There are many different things in the game for two reasons: it makes the game exciting for a longer period of time than a basic shooter, it allows people to specialize. gonna bash me because i use my sniper rifle more than i use a carbine? then shut up if somebody traverses in an apc more than they do on foot. yeah it pisses me off to be tked for a vehicle, yeah it pisses me off if somebody stands infront of my plane. i play in MANY different servers and i rarely encounter this sort of thing. just accept that a certain small portion of people are going to be assholes, punish them, and if you can't stop yourself from suffering from their effects then find yourself a different place to play for an hour or two because in the large majority of cases people don't take it that far. you guys know what's worse than vehicle whoring? nobody spawning in main bases or key vehicle spawns to make sure that they get the vehicle rather than some player on the opposing team - who will do three things: limit the firepower from our side, increase the firepower from their side, hit us from a direction that is unexpected with something more powerful than infantry. sorry - just figured 2 cents on this from somebody who likes to play a hard game for the purpose of earning victories might be appreciated but probably not.
padding
the only thing that is starting to piss me off is all this talk from people about how "everyone does it to some extent to stop whining." It's so lame to see the amount of people admit to padding and the amount amount of threads and posts trying to provide rationalization and justification for it. I like that "Sgt.Austin" guy who atleast isn't insecure about it. I don't stat pad and until i came here i just assumed that a very limited number of people had done it. appearantly a majority have done it at one point or another. whatever - pad if you want, no big deal to me - i don't pad and my stats make that clear. i don't mind people padding because their stats reflect it and mine don't - meaning they can't say things like "you suck" to me. padding is going to happen when you make people wait to access features in a game they paid for. the more i look at some stats from people who are admitted padders on "a limited basis" the more it becomes appearant that it's done for badges and what have you - that's just sad. the only reason anyone would pad for a badge is to be able to show it off or feel accomplished to yourself. the badges are neat, i like earning em, that's probably pathetic to some degree - but not nearly to the degree of the person who pads to get it.
