It says that a sniper rifles bullit can peirce a copter window, can it hit the pilot and kill him? I'm new and tried this but unsuccesful.....any suggestions.thxs

It can only with the M95, but it is indeed possible. Kinda hard to hit a moving chopper though.

Yep just the M95 can kill the pilot/gunner.But by hitting the chopper its still improving your accuracy.
Good times when the pilot is killed and all you can see is the chopper heading for the floor and the gunner not even noticing.

its quite easy, just aim at the pilot head and get two or sometimes 6 kills

Frequency of opportunities to kill enemy pilot is not high enough to consider using shitty M95 all the round. But if you plan to camp somewhere at enemy main base then yeah.. go for it
you can take down a chopper with 3-4 clips of the m95. lol
A damaged chopper could go down much more quickly if it's hit in the right spot by a M95 round.
I hardly ever play sniper.....but when a hilarious opportunity to exploit the cockpit glass piercing nature of the M95 presents itself, who am I to resist? I literally spent a good 10-15 minutes (take a moment to think about how long this really is to go undetected and unchallenged as a sniper making active kills) one round on Oman in the sandbag hut to the right of the MEC Havok spawn. There were 4 guys fighting for control of the Havok. So determined to be the one(s) to get the chopper, they didn't care that every time they jumped in.....I sniped them out. It was too comical....I almost felt bad doing it. And of course, once someone decided to try and come find me......BAM......claymore kill. Well, sure enough.......they were persistent. BAM....nother claymore kill. Now, I'm out of options.....if I lay there and keep sniping, I'm toast. So.....I leave the bunker. It's pistol and knife time. I spend another 7-10 minutes running around pistoling and knifing these fucktards......until finally I get killed by an overzealous team mate in an F35 bombing the helipad. THANKS FRIEND! Oh well......the amount of time I spent killing these doods as a sniper boggled my mind. I usually have crap luck as a sniper. They must have been terrible players. let me give you some tips, it is relatively easy to snipe a pilot out of a slowly moving chopper, but not with the lowly M95

The amount of time playing will inevitably give you a higher rank, but it certainly doesn't stop people from being noobs.
Take Lord of weed for example, he spend a rediculous amount of time of his otherwise uneventful life spamming nades on karkand whilst lonewolf as support.... There is no skill in that whatsoever. In a normal (non-infantry-only) round of wake for example, hed be less use than an ashtray on a motorbike.

It's possible with the .50 cal mounted machine guns, too. I did it today - I was shooting at a chopper and one of the rounds apparently killed the pilot. First time that's ever happened to me.
C4 on the cockpit glass works well, but you have to be super stealthy to get close enough to place the c4 and not get spoted.
Though its quite funny to let them see you place it - see them jump out - and jump in, mow them down and fly off into the sunset.

On that note, and completely derailing this thread......nothing beats running full speed at a tank as infantry, and watching the tank driver bail out because he thinks you're Spec Ops running in w/ C4. You then take his tank and kill him.......all because he was so worried about his KDR that he bailed out of a tank he THOUGHT might be blown up w/ C4.goblinstomper wrote:

Oh....what is also nice is when you sneak into the enemy airfield, covertly C4 the J10 of the resident whore who thinks he's more powerful than God.......give him a few minutes of flying and killing unopposed......and the *bam*.....blow his obnoxious ass out of the sky, and watch the screen fill up w/ profanity from your unsuspecting victim.

I've been that co-pilot twice now ... both times I'm lined up to TV a vehicle, from waaay up high in the sky, only for me to start spinning out of control.
first though - pilot is making evasive manuevers to avoid jets fucking with us.
2nd though (after noticing I have no pilot) - oh shit he bailed - wtf, noob pilot!
3rd though (after seeing the M95 kill message) - oh shit I'm going to crash and burn
4th though - god I hope we didn't lose central island (map was Zatar both times) ...

Played SF yesterday on Surge and some Insurgent chopper Pilot was divebombing straight for me. I had the M95 and only had point and click since he was coming straight for me Only getting away from a crashing HIND proved somewhat more complex
almost as fun as shooting a copter pilot with the M95 is rounding a corner with ur sniper rifle, coming face-to-face with a red, and just popping a round off without zooming as a reflex reaction that actually kills him!

You can shoot the pilot, but you can`t shoot the gunner though. I've commited tests with the following chopers: MI28, AH1, MI35 - killing the gunner, not possible(with M95). And I am quite shure it is aplicable to the remaining chopers as well.

M95 to the cockpit of a smoking chopper works decent....better then you would think. On open maps you can often kill a smoking chopper if you hit every shot on the glass, as you can get in quite a few before they are out of view distance (and its 2 bars per shot)

i blew up a chopper with a pistol the other day.
i was sniping on mashtuur near backyard, and the mec chopper flew over already smoking quite heavily. i couldn't get a shot at the pilot with the rifle so i switched to pistol and peppered it with two clips simply trying to sneakily get my accuracy stat up a bit. it blew up! got four kills and i did some laughing too!
