The other day I got on a bus and tried to pay an 80p fare with a £10 note. The bus driver looked at me like dropped my pants and slapped his face with my un-washed member. Whilst trying to work out what else I could give him to pay for my fair (BTW, no i'm not a man-whore) they guy behind me paid for my fair.

Having thanked him I thought about this in terms of Karma.

If I find the man on another occasion and repay his generosity, the circle is broken and the good deed is repayed.
But if I find someone else and purposefully do a good deed to them, and they repeat to someone else, suddenly the world becomes a better place and the circle does not end. (See the film "Pay it Forward")

So when people put in their sigs "Karma me and I'll Karma you back" they're defeating the whole object of Karma.

MOD: Asking for karma removed.

As an alternative: Discuss.

But the point of karma is not to do something for karma. If you deliberately do something because you know you are going to get karma, then you are doing it for self gain which then completely defeats the purpose of karma.

So as long as you do something just out of the goodness of your heart, then you will get karma for it. Doesnt matter if you do something good for someone that did something for you. this isnt going to cancel out the karma, unless you are thinking about personal gain from doing something good.

So no, you are wrong.

I don't think actions which benefit others, and are done with karma in mind are completely devoid of karma.  I mean, you're still doing something good, right?

yeah you are still doing something right, but the original post suggests that you can not do something for someone who has done something for you because you will cancel out the karma. This means that you are actively thinking about the karma and then would only then make you do something else nice to someone else in order to get karma. Which is not what people should do, as they should do nice things just because they are nice, and then get karma.

No point in just doing something nice because you feel you have to because someone else was nice to you.

Yes, I agree, there are 2 different types of Karma being talked about here:

Karma(1). Spiritual Karma, the goodness and kindness of the world
Karma(2). BF2S Forums Karma, which should better be entitled "Points for writting clever/funny shit"

Doing something in the real world for Karma(1) is a good thing, because to attain Karma, people do not have to know it was you. Alcoholics Anonymous asks its members to complete 3 deeds to change someone else's life for the better, without them knowing that you did it, and hence without reward. This is Karma(1)

Doing something so that you will get recognition and praise and respect is Karma(2), but there is no reason why this cannot create Karma(1) in that it may increase the positivity and spirituality of those it affects.

EDIT: My original post had a request for Karma for which I would pay the Karma back to others, this seems to have been mis-understood as an attempt to gain Karma(2). It was actually more a summary of the topic. That should I ever receive Karma for any topic, that you should not expect it back.

Karma is overseen as something diferent through BF2s to the real life issues of so called 'Karma' throughout the world.

Don't tell me what I can do with my karma.

So you see karma for karma really is karma ,but in the end the karma doesn't amount to a hill of beans.

This is very true of all bus drivers. Last week on the way to hospital I gave the driver a £2 coin for a £1.60 fare.

He looked at me and said "Have you not got any change?"

Yes, Yes I have got change, in the form of a £2 coin that I have just handed you. Parasite.

The anger in his face as he counted out the 40 whole English pence was fantastic. He looked at me like i'd just asked to take his dead mother on a naked bungee jump.

Tip the bus driver? The only way i'd tip a bus driver would be if the fucker was looking over the edge of a bridge.

Troll this is a well know trick from bus drivers in the hope you say " No I have not got any change...keep it " even though the driver has about 50 pounds of change...

The driver was just trying to pull a fast one...welcome to rip off Britain!!

Karma is like money,

you have very little, you want some
you have a lot and you're turning into a prick. then marry some hot blond babe, and then dead.
