what was the worst patch?
i say 1.3
i first started playing at 1.3 and i got shitty crashes nearly EVERY time i clicked the "Join Game" button

MOST ANNOYING PATCH!

1.3.. the amount of server crashes and client crashes I went through made me stop playing BF2 for 2 months at least.

Wait, was it 1.2 that changed the C4 jumping and uber-dolphin diving? If so, then i hate patch 1.2 more. I remember guys that could chuck c4 packs over really long distances. It was all really funny and enjoyable for the most part.

tough choice:

1.2:
-made dogfighting better at the cost of ruining it on public servers, and scaring away just about every decent pilot in existence
-made claymores the ultimate noobsticks. (it allowed 8 at once for brian's sake!)
-the first major step in nerfing infantry
-ruined the only true aspect of existing teamwork in BF2 publics: the blackhawk
-nerfed chopper TV range
-made guns unfirable in the air

1.3:
-removed squadhopping. WHY?!
-major crashes/bugs
-made hitreg worse

1.4:
-destroyed infantry altogether

my vote goes for 1.2

1.3 was worst because of the CTD issues. I had no issues until 1.3.

Hmm, don't know what the worst patch was as when I bought the game it had already been out for a decent number of months... maybe one day I'll reinstall BF2 and just play it with no patches, just to see what it was like way back then.

I don't know guys... Don't you remember the very first patch that came out? (1.02?) It hosed BF2 so badly that everyone had to reinstall the game. That, and it didn't REALLY fix much of anything that I could tell! I stopped playing for almost a year until a friend of mine said that all of THOSE issues were worked out. Now the question is, Will there be any more patches? It's STILL a popular game.

Believe it or not. I hate 1.4 more than 1.3

I started playing the game at 1.3 and had no CTD's, unlike everybody else it seems. I also had what in my view was the most fun tool of the game, cartillery. I mean, how much fun is it to see a DPV float down on that sniper who is killing your team and then to see *Sniper 1 is NO MORE*. Oh, the fun I had with that.

Then came 1.4 and I started to get the issues with CTD that I had never had before. Admittedly that was only for the first day though. Now we have 1.41 and the game is as stable as is ever has been (for me anyway), but we don't have my precious Cartillery. I mean it wasnt that annoying now was it.

Ahh well. I play mods now. Much fun 8^)

1.3 also made hitreg way worse, but crashes were the main problem it caused
