Look I know there have been a lot of topics about the Commander Score and shit..
And I did search ( but not find, maybe I'm a little blind, who knows.. )
Ok so this is the thing:

Last game I played ( like this morning ) I played the last round as a CO.
I know that CO's are expected to stay at the base and not to engage in battle, but since I got bored -and am good at doing 2 things at a time- I did engage.
My scores were as followed:
Round Score: 68
Kills: 19 ( with F2000 and shotty and whatever other gun I might have used )
Deaths: 4
Now this is the question: when I went back into BFHQ I checked my scores to see what changed ( you know, checking out howmany ppl I killed during the game I played.. ) and I noticed that my Commander Score -where I thought all the points go to when u're CO- hadn't changed a lot or not at all, not sure..
But the Round Score went to my Global Score and I got the Kills/Deaths of that round just added up to my Global Kills/Deaths, and they were accurate, except for the Kills, which was +27 instead of +19.. And I do know I killed about 8 people with arty strikes..
So if I use those numbers it works like:
Global score = xxxxx + new round score
Kills = xxxxx + new amount round kills + new amount artillary kills
Deaths = xxxxx + new amount deaths
but then wtf is ur Commander Score exactly ? is it like the Round score except your Kills/Teamwork score? or what?

Hope anyone can understand what I'm saying :-)

ok ur thinking way to much. commander score is the score u get while commander, on your command screen your score as commander is at the top. it is the average of all the players on ur team. so its basically all the points for your team added up and averaged by the amount of members on ur team. kits kills and deaths are added to your score but dont effect your commander score they only effect your global score. and at the end of the round your global score gets doubled if u win for being commander.

And am I correct if I asume that the Kills are ur own kills ( with gun ) + the artillary kills?

I just want to know how the hell to get a 40 commander score for basic badge since 1.12 patch came out.  Only thing you seem to get points for is individual and arty kills.  I played the other night and personnally capped 8 flags and assisted with 6 others, plus 2 kills so that's usually about 58 points.  Then just when I get all excited cause I think I'm going to get my basic badge, I hit tab to peep my score and BLAM!  a whole 4 points??? WTF...  We also won the round (no I wasn't just capping flags etc. I was doing the cmdr thing to)...

So why doesn't the commander get cap/cap assist points....

So without a run of lucky arty strikes killing an average of 2/3 people per (that's still about 20 strikes to call).  It pretty much forces the commander to get out and try to score kills, heals, revives, and resupply's.

Any suggestions...

there seems to be alot of confusion around the commander score, but it is real simple actually. A commander gets a score on the average of your team's players. combined score = 250, number of players = 25, your score = 10, that simpe) However, if your sid wins you gets that score doubled. If you have made any kils or teamwork scores during the round, even though you sghouldnt run around as commander, this gets added to your score at the en, but only if your sid wins. Therefore to score high as a commander, you are dependant on your side winning. If they dont, you only get total the team score divided by players X 1 and not added your combat or team score. Its easier to get the command badge on a server with 32 players or less, I got mine on kubra dam with a score of 58, we won the round so total score of 116.

dont forget... if you resupply or heal or repair those points dont get added in until after the game is over... win or lose those 1 point actions will get added on and cant be doubled.  At least thats what I have experienced when I command..

i think u get a point if sbdy kills sbdy within ur uav range. and u get also points when people use the sypply crates. btw i never mentioned to get any kills added when killing with arty.

incorrect.  the commander score is not the average score of the players on your team.  it's close to that, but not quite.  commander score is the average score of the players who were alive when the points were scored.

say you have ten people on your team who are all alive and each one gets ten points.  your commander score would be 10.  now if five of those people die and the other five who are still alive score ten points each, you would get another ten, even though only five people scored ten points and the other five scored none since they were dead.

you get no points for teamwork nor combat.

I'm pretty sure you're all wrong. it's pretty simple to me....

you get the average score of your team, however that is worked out with them being alive. end of round: if you win, it gets doubled. if you dont', it doesn't. SIMPLE.

you get any teamwork points no matter what. SIMPLE.

you can't get points for kills in game. SIMPLE.

all the crap about killing in the UAV radius or getting points for killing with arty. bullshit. SIMPLE.

I am usually an engineer when commanding so I can fix arty or uav, and I sometimes get lead the game in repairs.. I know those are added to my score at the end of the round win or lose.   They are not part of the 2x, but I do get the points and credit for them in my bfhq.

i am pretty sure you do not get any points for using the uav or spotting enemys that get killed.  I know you get a point for every flag captured by your team and use of a supply crate and my previous post about points added in the end.  What does suck is that when you (as a commander) needs to go out and engage becuase the team needs help, do not get any assists for flags, or kills....

Well in any case in order to get the badge you have to score the 40 prior to the end of the round.  I have been commander and scored 50+ on about 3 different occasions that I can think of  but have not been awarded the badge.  So basically what I'm drawing from this is that unless your side is totally kicking ass in a server with like 250+ tickets the chances of you getting a 40 or 50 plus commander score is almost beyond hard?

Before the 1.12 it was awesome to Double ur scores in the end of the match when u were winning and no other commander there in ur team. It was fun though.

plus, you only get the teams average for the time you are commanding.  If you take commander at the enmd of the round, you will have a very low commander score.  The time you command has an effect here, at least since 1.03, so all these asshats who connect  near the end and start a mutiny thinking they will be doubled, won't get much at all

Having just received my expert command, I think I am able to clarify a few points.  Redhot is correct, but with one addition.  UAV's and spotting enemy on the commander screen that then results in a kill from your team gives you a command point. so running around a map playing like you are a regular tom, does nothing for your score and increases the chances of your team losing as who will disagree that a well placed UAV can make the difference when capping a flag?  You lose, bang goes your x2, so what's the point?

Many other links on this subject, but commanders command, they don't fight other than to proetct the flag they're sat near.

So I read through this and am a little confused on one piece.  I understand the whole no team points, no kill points go toward the command score, but do they go to your global score?  i.e. if you look at my stats (Pfcsarge1), you will see I have ~4600 command points.  But, when you add up team score and kills, there is only a 560 point difference that I assume is accounted for things I have done while commanding (kills, repairs, heals, etc). 

Can anyone clarify (and I think it was but need 100% certainty) that if I cap a flag as a commander, the score isn't reflected in my command score, but after the round end is calcuated into my global score?  The reason I ask is same as stated above.  Do you get repair/heals/flag cap/etc while being commander and gets reflected in the global score, not the commander score?

A commander earns NO global points from personal kills, arty kills, repairs, supplies, flag captures, flag defends, heals,  or whatever.  A commander ONLY earns the dynamic average (as defined above) of the scores of all his live team mates, doubled if the team wins. 

Nevertheless, the 2x win bonus makes it worthwhile for the commander to participate in the combat if by doing so he can increase his side's chances of winning.  Personally, I prefer to hang back and guard one of the rear capturable flags when playing commander.  As commander, I can keep an eye on a C4'd flag without ever putting my head above the parapet, so to speak.  The MEC home base on Dragon Valley is a classic for this.

Personal kills and team points do sometimes show up on the score board, but nevertheless do not contribute to the final score.  I DO believe they count towards the total combat and total team scores which you see in the stats - hence the apparent discrepancies.

Currently, your global score = 56967.  Your team+combat+commander score = 17508+38870+4656 = 61034.  I think this implies that 61034-56967 = 4067 of your team & combat points were earned while playing commander, and haven't counted towards your global score.

I don't think you do.  Check out c:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\python\game\scoringCommon.py , and a LOT of discussion on this topic at PlanetBattlefield.

Corripe_Cervisiam, the easiest way to get 40+ commander points is to play on a lightly populated full-size map with maximum tickets, no time limit, and lots of potential for flag-swapping (e.g. city maps).  Every time your team captures a flag, you'll earn the points.  As commander, try to keep the game going as long as possible.   Avoid arty'ing except to keep the game going - every time you kill a hostile, that's less kills for your team mates, hence less global points for you.

My best commander score under those conditions was 146.5 (doubled to 293) on Sharqui. Lol ... I think that Sharqui game alone lasted longer than the total time you've clocked up so far as commander!  Keep playing as commander ... IAR 40 pts will come your way soon enough.

No one joined to your team during the game.
5 people on your team:

(5+8+10+2+15)\5
40\5 = 8.
