I am by far not a scholar of cigars.  My knowledge thus far is limited, but I've been getting more into cigars lately, and have been trying to learn about the different kinds.  So, right now, when I buy cigars, I buy samplers so I can get a variety to try.  Thus far, my favorite include anything from the Punch brand, and Cohibas (the Dominican "red dot" variety).  Tonight, I tried my first Rocky Patel.  It was the "Cuban Blend" line.  Definetly a "full bodied" smoke....not for the first timer, but certainly enjoyable for those who've had a few and are looking for something with some kick to it.

So...how many other cigar fans do we have?  And what are your smokes of choice?

Here's a photo of tonights enjoyment:

https://www.scinscityscions.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10003/pimp.JPG

The players in this act are as follows:

Rocky Patel Cuban Blend
Wild Turkey 101
Xikar cigar cutter (From Solingen, Germany, some of the finest steel on the planet).
Steyr M40 .40cal pistol.

Why?  Cause here in America, nothing beats a fine cigar, a fine booze, a fine blade, and a fine gun.  Nothing except a fine woman in your bed.  Oh wait.....got THAT too.

Trust me.....I know the Turkey isn't a high end Whiskey.    But tonight.....I just wanted something to kick my ass.  It did the trick.

I travel to cuba at least twice a year and my favorite cigars are: Cohiba Robusto, Romeo y Julieta and Monte Cristo. Try and blend the cigar with some VSOP Cognac or single malt whiskey (glenfiddich or Lapprohaig).

I guess this place does cater somewhat to a younger crowd......but I'm only 24.  You don't have to be a geezer to like cigars.  Are there no cigar afficionados amongst us?

***edit: I'm too slow....looks like we have a couple.

I have yet to have a real cuban.  I've had the Dominican Cohibas....and I liked them.

Yeah, ive smoked the vanilla and chocolate ones. Not bad at all, but i guess they are a lot different to the non-flavoured ones.

That looked like a fun night in lol.

The best cigars i've ever bought though was a local brand from Las Tunas. " El Credito"  30 excellent cigars for 3 dollars. Very nice and price worthy.

Smoking CIGARETTES sucks.  Let us differentiate here.  I smoke maybe a maximum of 6 cigars a YEAR generally.  This year will probably tally a few more just because I have a couple cigar samplers I'd like to try before they become unsmokable.  Regardless, I am by far not a nicotine addict.......cigarette smokers and tobacco dippers/chewers in most cases ARE nicotine addicts.  To me, smoking cigarretes is just a disgusting habit intended to feed an addiction.  Cigarettes are enjoyable on no level OTHER than delivering nicotine into the blood stream by inhalation of tobacco smoke.  Cigars, on the other hand can be appreciated for their vast, robust, and natural flavors.......and, for most people (myself included) are typically NOT inhaled.  It is not about nicotine fixes w/ most cigar afficionados......it's about enjoyment of the complex flavors and aromas that can be found in different cigars, and a big part of the enjoyment for me at least, is learning to identify these little nuances.

Think of it this way:  Would you necessarily equate a wine taster to an alcoholic?  Some people enjoy wine for the various bougets of aroma and flavor.....not to get drunk.

Only 16 never had a real cigar. Only those crappy white owls, black and milds, or a dutch.
And yeah I've been smoking cigs since 14 and already have all the negative health effects, it's bad.
