I voted yes, but it depends actually.
When I drive a tank, and the enemy tank driver has a low rank, I know it's going to be easy to 0wn him, that's what I mean.

People often say 'rank doesn't matter' but it's atleast an indication of what kind of player will fly with you in your chopper. If I needed to choose for a Corporal or a Colonel, I choose the colonel for shure!

No i give everyone a chance. When i fly heli's i get a gunner, When i fly bomber's i always have a co-pilot(I'll wait for atleast 5 minutes)When I'm in a humvee or apc i will wait for people no matter what rank. I think everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves.

Rank usually means the person knows what the fuck hes doing, all these people who are like "Rank means nothing" usually arent officers ........in a game

But yeah, rank just makes you feel better in game, no??? Whats this real world stuff people keep talking about?

And I thought every rank gave me a 10% boost in life? My silver maple leaf gave me a deflector shield and a damage modifier?

Oh hell, today a Captain flew me around, I kept hitting the "enemy spotted" button like hell but he never lined me up for the enemy chopper. What an idiot that was

I don't do it to keep "noobs" out, as I never use that word. (Unless I'm being sarcastic.)

But my friend and I do lock down to a 2 man squad a lot to keep the idiots out.

Sometimes the rank doesnt show up because of a glitch.  And no unlocks sometimes.  Rank is an indicator of skill but in no way means much.  Sometimes a guy with no rank is really good. Sometimes (but rarely) a very high rank player will suck balls.

I know im not the best but i am pretty good.  Usually finish in the top 5.  But i have some pretty bad runs and die like 7 times in a row.  Then i kill 15 in a row.  All depends on if im drinking beer or coffee and i must have consumed at least 1 Joint to have a great round.

1300 hours on my main account - you start getting annoyed by the same shit over and over again. To the point where you spawn with an M95 and the words "my.j-10." going through your mind.

As always I will give people a chance if I'm in a happy mood I may just keep flying and hopefully they should learn a little bit about gunning. If not I just sod off into a jeep running people over.

Rank means nothing in this game 'cause everyone has 20 different accounts. In fact, I would say that most seasoned players have started new accounts so they can have show-off stats.

The only time I ever pay attention to rank is when someone is going to be my pilot/gunner in a chopper. Rank doesn't ALWAYS mean anything, but most of the time someone with a higher rank is a better pilot/gunner since these things take not only fast reflexes, but also experience and intimate knowledge of the map, things that you only get after you have played quite a long time. That said, if someone actually ASKS me if he can use the chopper, I ALWAYS say yes. I'm just too stunned by their politeness (when they could just as easily have ejected me with the M95) that I can't help but say yes. People who TK for vehicles, take a lesson out of this: instead of TKing for the chopper/J-10, just ASK for it. If it's someone like me they will most likely say "sure go ahead".

Not true. I only have one account, and I'm actually quite proud of my stats for that very reason. I've never played on any other account than this one, and a K/D ratio of 1.84 is not bad for a primary account. I say fuck secondary accounts.

skill = skill
beer = less skill

I wouldn't stop anyone from getting a vehicle because of their rank... I might think twice about getting into it with them though.

I have 3 accounts, my main, my practice account (I still suck in a heli, and I'm workin on it) and my teamkill the tards who think they own every heli/jet/tank in the game cause they are 'elitest'

A good example would be on ghost town (That very game my sig was made from) and this guy in his apache who solo'd the whole time, and did nothing but use rockets...He never even seat swapped..Wouldn't give me a ride. I was right next to him on the heli pad...POS. Logged back in, rejoined, and teamkilled him with AT round and knifed him whenever he waited on the helipad. This guy deserved it.

Point#1 - elitism should come as no surprise to any of us.  It's human nature to live by comparison.  That's why we tend to feel worse about ourselves when we see how the very rich live.

Point#2 - the rank tells you nothing.  It could be some Lt. Col's practice account.  I have seen many low-ranked players dominate a game.

Point#3 - if, mid-game, somebody is stuck at -8 points, then (and only then) do I think it's safe to conclude they are not very skilled.

Point#4 - something about people who pilot jets or helos makes them especially prone to this sort of elitism.  It's an interesting case study in personalities.
