Haha, well that's not the story he was saying in the pub that I was playing with him.  He said, very clearly, that he was pissed that they reset his old account and didn't care anymore, and FULLY knew what he was doing.  So I have a real hard time believing any of this was accidental.

For the record, when I was playing against him in the server, everyone there was calling him a hacker.  Over and over I tried to explain to these nubs that he doesn't hack, he simply joined an exploit server that got him crazy points.
