I researched the problem online at length on Saturday and I found one article posted in a forum I can't recall the name of saying that the guy had gone into the BF2 folder which is created under My Documents the first time you run BF2 and deleted its contents to fix the crashing. I played for about 4-5 hours switching maps just fine. One of the servers I was on however did fail and me and my friends all lost connnection. You have been kicked by Punk Buster for VIOLATION (IGNORING QUERIES) #9006 KICKED FOR 2 MINUTES. So I went to the Punkbusted.com forums and researched this message. Turns out that those who were experiencing the issue had EVGA video cards, were running the latest 100.32 Vista Beta Drivers, and Vista on their computers as I am. The Punkbusted guys said they were aware of it but did not have a clue how to fix it yet since they couldn't find how Vista worked with OpenGL or something like that. Anyway I kept reading and eventually I found a guy mentioning a patched version of Punkbusted that worked on a 64 bit OS that was giving the same types of errors. I figured I would try and I loaded the new version and updated it. It did NOT resolve the #9006 error at first but then I figured maybe I should reboot and after I rebooted I got in fine and played off and on all day Sunday without errors. I figured out one more glitch workaround. Whenever I play successfully and then quit the game, I now reboot if I want to paly again. If I try to quit and then come back in later without rebooting I always seem to run into some BF2 instability under Vista. If I take the extra minute to reboot before I try again.... NO PROBLEMS now... anyway hope this helps someone. God knows I feel like I wasted my weekend getting this far just for myself. Have a good one.

gonna update my video card drivers and do a reboot.. hoping that fixes it.. although there s nothing conclusive in that post you mentioned aside from that punkbuster doesnt have a clueMissionless wrote:
