7600Go vs. Radeon X1600

Hi!

ill steal myself a laptop in the near future, however, where i live , the people i could steal from dont have hig end laptops but only the average. so, i know these two jerks, one with a 7600Go in his laptop, the other with a X1600. my question: which is worth the steal? oh, and is core duo alot worse than core 2 duo? i just want to watch porn and play bf2...thx guys!

Although I might not be the most credible source, I'm pretty sure that the 7600Go is slightly better than the X1600.

On a slightly related note, a 7700Go (obviously) outperforms both, but the 7600Go GT outperforms the 7700. Strange.

the 7600go and the x1600mobility are nearly identical. one card will win one benchmark by 2 fps, the next one it looses. Either will do just fine. The core Duo's somewhere 0-10% slower clock for clock depending on the app you are running

with the laptop in my sig I can play bf2 mostly high, shadows/lighting off, AA x4. Unless you get a really crappy CoreDuo you should be ok

The GeForce Go 7600, and the GeForce Go 7600 GT both outperform the ATi Mobility X1600.

Also, "Core Duo" is another name for the Pentium D's....the Core 2 Duo completely rapes it.

sorry but that is completely wrong. The desktop 7600's outperform x1600's but the x1600mobility is nearly identical to 7600go. Also CoreDuos are based off the Pentium-m which was based off the Pentium 3. Pentium-Ds are based off Pentium-4s which are a completely different micro architecture.
