I was playing in a relatively lively server with 20 peoples this morning. I was commanding and saw an area horded by enemies. I went through the proper channels, alerted all of my squads it was coming, and annihalated the place. Much to my surprise 4 of my own peoples were within that circle of Rebels, after realizing my mistake and quickly apologizing, one of them (his name is Jasio, kinda sounds like one of MC Hammers backup dancers, or a Mili Vinilli reject, however you spell it) kicks in a mutiny, understandably so, but this is the same guy that got a mutiny in the round before. Unbothered, he proceeds to send me messages like and i quote, "YOU ARE A FUCK nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooob,youre such a nooooob look at your rank" like my rank had anything to do with him standing under artillery after i warned him. So i was laughng my ass off at this and kept getting killed, this guy tried to kick me so many times, and kept the n00b thing going. But its my funny story of how people take this game waaaaaaayyyy too seriously. Needless to say we lost, I think that guy was too busy calling me a n00b than fighting, or maybe he was on the phone with Hammer hoping for a comeback special?

Some guy walked out in front of my jeep and got himself team killed, I stopped, revived him and apologised even though it was not my fault, he called me a noob and punished me so I just team killed him again and left him.
Half my team kills are on purpose, If I see somebody team kill somebody else for a vehicle I will team kill them back even if I dont want the vehicle because I hate lamers.

Being called A noob is usually when you piss someone off by killing him a little too much for his taste.... he feels threatened by you and starts to call you names as to make him feel more important, a better player then you...
It's about ego and even a bit of reputation...

No, not really. Anyone who honestly tries to use noob as an insult and l33t-speech I just laugh off. Generally because the situations are filled with irony. Such as someone else said about someone running infront of a moving vehicle and calling the driver a noob. Heh, yeaaah...I think it's the other way around.

heh heh, I got called a noob last night. We had all bases captured, and we had a perimeter around their non cappable base. I was in the anti-air, and whenever the helicopter took off, I shot it down. We didnt spawn camp because everyone seemed to hang around a large circle around the enemy base rather than driving into it and base raping.
I dont think the guy liked getting shot down about three times, because I got called a noob, and when I responded with a wink , I thought his head was going to explode.

Meh, last night we lost all our points on Warlord, and some guy was like 'lol you Insurgent noobs, you all suck at this game.' This guy, as it happened had 3 kills and 13 deaths, 3 of those I contributed, and minus 4 teamwork points.
hahaha, last prsn to call me a noob was +plus Smiley after I he had been ripping into some poor newbie on my team for something stupid, n I told him to leave the guy alone. So Smiley called me a noob n started tlking down his nose at me, so the next round I decided to be an armour whore to (Smiley luvs his armour it seems), and came within 5 points of his own score (top scores being +plus Smiley, +plus Skinny, then me).
Players call ppl noobs for a variety of reasons, but the general rule is they annoyed them somehow, this time cos I told Smiley to stop being an ass n leave the guy alone, so he decided to insult me. I luv it wen ppl do that, cos then I decide to show 'em just how much I'm not one, it generally works to shut them up .

I mean seriously... soon as u make ur next kill, it's the first place ppl will look), and knifed the little mongrel, at which point I think he musta turned purple in the face and started chewing off his fingers

I gotta tell you, I agree with you on the rest of your post. In concern with giving the finger to somebody, I have to disagree. Where I am from, giving the finger to someone can result in some pretty extreme responses. Yes it has the potential to make you look like a shithead, but it absolutely does something!! Ask anyone from Houston, TX (or any major city with traffic) what the results can be stemming from giving someone the "unholy bird". My answers range from, a dirty look, all the way to, he slammed my car to the side of the road and a fistfight broke out. I'm sure you'd get some pretty interesting responses. It's too bad we don't have that as an option in-game. I'd love to take out that one guy who has killed me 6 times in a row, run up to his skyward death view, lean over and give him a good "Bird". Although, the irony of seeing that goon at the end of the runway, waiting to be TK'ed so he can have my jet, giving me the finger as I roadkill him on full afterburners might be too much of a pisser...

if i ever shoot someone with a shotgun or a grenade launcher or kill anyone in a vehicle i am automatically a noob somehow. now sure how that works.

I've never been called a noob by my own teamates, but I've been called a noob in global chat by guys on the other team I've killed.
I always just say in reply: "You're right, I am a noob, how does it feel to be killed by one?"

doesnt bother me, however people who use it in sentences consisting of capital letters and other abuse and swearing and spamming it do get on my nerves a bit.
