I have had this happen to me numorous times....usually when my team is losing...get over it. The name of the game is to win and defeat your enemy. No where does it say anything about giving the opposing team a chance because they are ging to whine about it on boards some where. I usually try to spawn elsewhere when this happens, but not always possible. Mustang your strategy was perfect in it's usage. The opposing a$$ was a sore loser and might have done better if he did not waste his teams precious time trying to kick vote you. Game On! See you on the field of battle and if I do.....plan on dieing! :-P

- Spawn Camping...................hopefullly Defined !!!!
One time on Karkand I was playing medic with another guy. We were both MEC and must have killed 30+ people on that left-hand main spawn for US. They just kept spawning there, over and over and over.
So basically I don't think "camping" is a problem at all. Hell, in most terms, that's called defending a position.

Besides, if you ARE one of those guys getting spawn raped, just dont respawn. Sometimes if I know I dont have a chance, I wont choose a spawn point and ill cycle through watching our players get owned. It's funny to watch the death animations sometimes...
I played a round of Gulf of Oman as commander where I had 2 guys who kept getting on the carrier and sniping. This to me is spawn camping. We (the USMC) had at least 3 flags on land the whole round. In fact, we won the round. I asked them why they were camping our main when thier team was losing. They replied that they were "distracting" my teamates. Bullshit. These fags only cared about their numbers. Basically they were just trying to get a shitload of kills and feel like badasses. They didn't even try to steal any aircraft. If the carrier was our only base left, then its fair game.
Uncap base + other flags available to turn = spawn camping

I know exactly where you are talking about . I see nothing wrong with covering the spawn points and mowing the noobs down . Specially when all they have to do is go anti tank , pick the spawn point by the highrise building and get you in a nasty cross fire . one of many defensive tactics you can use to fend off tanks . F the noob who cast a vote to kick you lol . He's a complainer - kill him the most .
To bo honest if thoes guys made it there and killed a whole bunch of pilots then they pulled off something good . It's just 2 people , snipers anyhow . How much of a difference could they have made on the field ? Probly not much . Anyhow I do this from time to time when I'm positive that my team is nothing but noobs and we will get owned anyhow. Might as well snag a few snipes before the end rounds so quickly . I mean think about it . Some people might just like the risky adventure of even getting onto the ship in the first place . Then to be able to snipe pilots in the face while they are getting ready to take off - pricless . This very same thing happened to me . I got sniped like 4 times in a row . All you have to do is get in a chopper and face away from the snipers . Then you won't get hit . Swing around once you get lift and kill them with rockets - done . And if this is spawn camping then what do you call a commander who drops arty onto the Aircraft deck ?Johnthegreg wrote:

I kinda agree with the comments about snipers boarding the carrier.. they are borderline spawncampers IMO. But then again, I've been called a spawn camper for boarding the carrier as a spec op, blowing up their shit then fighting my way onto the deck to steal a jet and make my escape. . what, do they think I'm gonna fuckin swim back to dry land???
I suggest on the new patch they create a spawn sheild that last like 10 seconds so they can not be shot, they can be shot if they have shot. i think this might help some of the camping so they can get away.
There Is No Fucking Such Thing As Spawn Camping>>> Shut The Fuck Up! Admins That Enforce Spawn Camping Rules Are Morons!!!! Its Not Real... Camp Anywhere You Want. This Isnt Cs God Dammit. No More Bitching

good day sir....
There is NO SUCH THING as spawn camping in BF2. This ain't Far Cry or CS or any other game. In BF2 almost every single cappable flag is surrounded by spawn points. Here is my definition:mustang0341 wrote:
Ealier this 7th day of Janruary in the year of our lord 2006 I was playing Strike at Karkand on a 300 ticket map. About 5 or minutes into the game my squad and I where in armor taking the "square".
One squad member is in the tank sitting on the flag , and I am in an APC sitting on the road to the east of the flag. I proceed to gun down every MEC that spawns on the road by or in front of me , meanwhile we are turning the flag...again I say turning the flag. This player on the MEC starts calling me a spawn camper. We turn the flag and proceed to the "suburb" where again the tank sits near the flag and I sit to the east where I can see behind the building there and to the rear. Same response from the MEC player. We take that and head to the "train wreck" where again the tank sits at the flag and I stay on the upward slope to the east to watch the "tow" and remaing ground to the left. The same MEC player types " here come the campers again." I am gunning the players down as soon as they spawn. Meanwhile throught the whole thing we are transporting four other squad members with us as they help assist in turning the flags. By now my squad has ammassed over 125 points and I myself have 54. The same MEC player who has like 22 begins a series of four unsucessful kick votes against me for "Spawn Camping". Now I did not get kicked which leads me to believe that most where on my side but I have seen this on maps before so I am convinced that there is grey area when it comes to camping. Thus I bring to you the masses this argument so all who play can voice an opinion so that we can finally figure this shit out. Also at that time I was top on the board by about 15 points and I did finish with 100 points and a gold on the map. However.......Spawn Camping or no Spawn Camping??????
PS....Am I suppossed to let them spawn and run a few steps towards my men before I shoot?? Also let me tell you that I believe that it is only spawn camping if you are at a no cap base.
"If the spawn point is in the line-of-sight of and range of, or in the path of to/from or close enough to turn the flag then it is in play."
Name any cappable locations on BF2 maps that do not meet this definition.
