You know what it sounds, looks and feels like to me?  People who are angry with God, trying to get people to hate God with them.
That's one explanation. Another is that they hate the real world effects, perpetuated by practitioners of something that they don't believe exists.
I don't even consider myself an atheist, but your whole post is just shoddy argument.

While there is a lot of truth in what you say, Cougar, you are generalizing. For instance, I don't give a flying fuck about anyone believing in an invisible person or teapot in space. I do give a flying fuck if that same person is trying to push his idiotic beliefs onto someone else or even worse, on ME. And since I run into douchebags everywhere who call ME an idiot for NOT believing in something I CAN'T see, smell OR touch, they leave me no choice but to bash them into the ground. Why do I do this? Because it's fun. When I hear some religious guy talk about how his brother was socializing with the wrong end of a shotgun and had his face blown off and the proceeding to say it was god's will, that makes me laugh and all hope for both those idiots should be abandoned. When I hear some religious person in a hospital refuse any treatment because god will take care of him, then I say FINE! Let him die! Who gives a crap.

Anyway, I'm ranting. Point I was trying to make is this: If religion would just be another fetish/cult thing that the rest of the normal society would not suffer from, then I would say yes, those anti god people need to shut up and let these people have their illusions. But the sad fact is that religion is controlling our world. It's already starting to control laws in America so yea damn right I think anti god people have not only the right but the RESPONSIBILITY to spread their opinion and views (in a normal fashion, naturaly) as it might open some eyes here and there when we preach logic long enough. You can not rely on some invisible figure in space who apparently isn't ever here to fix things to guide your life for you and anyone who wants to do that is welcome to do so but DON'T fuck up MY good day by doing so. And since that is what's happening every single day on this world, I have the god given (haha) right to preach and bash these people all I want untill they are no longer influencing MY life.

Or you could follow the - there is no god, only Zuul - mantra and realize all you have to do is be a moral person who values life and respects those as he would like to be respected and you get all the women you want (well, not all, but I've never had a problem).

On a side note, the only two girls I have ever met that have had an abortion go to church every sunday and consider themselves religous.
