AT Missle Going through Targets

Ever have this happen to you? You are playing Anti-Tank and have your sites up about to fire a missle at an incoming FAV or Humvee and your missle shoots out and sails through the vehicle which in turn runs you over. No glancing blow, no partial hit nothing.. just goes right through and you die from vehicular manslaughter.

Does the AT missle have a minimum arming distance? Cuz I swear I have hit tanks and apcs from similar distances and have had impacts. For some reason FAVs are too fast?

Yes ,and It's a glitch that really pisses me off.To them it probably looks like you totally missed.there was a mention on another thread about some people using high ping to thier advantage.
Would that have anything to do with it?

I have watched as my guided missile from an LAV passed right through the treads of a tank and came out the other side just missing my teammate luckily. Never seen an AT guy have a shot go through something though. Sucks, but thats the game for ya...

Yeah..I have had this experience couple of times too.

But it will save your life sometimes too !

Couple of days ago in game when I fired my portable against armoured car...Rocket just went thru ... WTF...so the car drove straight towards me (I was proned..)...and the car drove OVER me ! I was alive ...Hehehehehe.

I just turned around and fired the last rocket and SKAZOMMBOOM...HAhahahahahaaaa.

well, in theory as those FAV's and jeeps are quite open to the top ( they only have that metail railing where the mounted mg is ), a AT rocket can actually pass trough it without hitting, I suppose. just the same with the open doors in the BH..

I have shot through an oncoming FAV/ jeep a couple of times. aim for the solid part of the vehicle, and all is fine, I guess...

that happened to me tonight. except it was APC VS APC.. and I shot the missle and it went straight through the front of it and it went out the back and then it went straight up into the air.. :\ needless to say I ended up dying because his missle hit me.

I've had it to were one time a AT missle was shot at a blackhawk i was in and instead of it blowing it up, it went through the blackhawk and killed me and nobody else...That giltch does get on my nerves casue u want to kill something and u cant beacasue the missle goes throgh everything.

Ive had to were, if im driving a buggy and i try to run someone over then my car will go through the person, its irritating, ive also had it to where someone shot a rocket at my buggy while driving and the rocket went through the buggy and killed me and not blow up the car.

yeah.. tonight.. I shot a litle buggy with THREE tank shells and none of them killed it. and on thethird one, it went through the freakin car and kiled my teammate.. which I got punished for. (OF COURSE!) I never did get a chance to kill the faggot in the buggy.

It happens all the time, even when aiming directly at the meat of a vehicle. It's annoying and can get you killed or worse, punished for TK.
Maybe this is part of the same problem. I'm driving down the road (APC), no lights against me, all of a sudden, I'm in a garden up against the wall..... what the hell is that all about.

It is occuring with the AT as well as the TOW... I have a few experiences being on either end of it... In the APC, hearing someone complain that they shot a TOW through me (both had low ping rates), and the second when I shot through the T-90 with the EryX.

It is in the EA forums as well, so it is being recognized as a real issue since the patch.

Well as you can see I started this thread a VERY LONG TIME AGO.

Which goes to show you just how long we have had this hit squares bug.

Now we can add the fact that not only do AT rockets and TOW go through vehicles, sometimes the rocket doesn't fire at all or fires delayed. Even though you clicked and it showed the firing sequence graphic nothing actually comes out. Or you press the button and the rocket shoots out but there is no animation so it kind of just appears out in the air someplace.

That and medic not being able to throw bags not being able to revive close together or whatever or something. Very irritating.

It have happened when I have shot missle againts choppers and cars mostly. But whenever they shoot at me my car will ALWAYS blow up no matter what. >.> So damn anoying.

The problem existed long ago, but it seems like it happens since 1.2 more often. I could say, that every 4th or 5th AT missile tunnels through (standing) vehilcles.

I've seen it once. I shot at an enemy APC that was parked near a flag. The shot went thru and hit a friendly transport, giving me three tk's and getting me kicked.

Long before the latest patch i shot at a blackhawk. The AT missile went in one side door and out the other. It was some of the funniest and worst luck i've had.

sometimes i will fire the AT and it will shoot(it looks like it does) smoke trail and everything, no hit, Immediatly i look at my weapon status and it didnt even shoot. Even though i clicked the mouse and i heard the sound. tisk tisk.

It's because the server doesn't register the firing of the second AT round so although you see it 'passing through' the target, the server is none the wiser. Or something like that.

Notice how you don't need to reload afterwards either.
