For maps where infantry are dominant medic is the best class; so in IO it's medic, period, if you have to pick just a single class. If you're a good sniper (not a good shot, a good sniper) then that can be worthwhile too but medics make more of a difference in winning or losing as a rule... if they're doing their job, getting all those lost tickets back.

For any map featuring armour then engineer is the class for those in the armour. AT has something to be said for it since you can hop out and shoot at enemy vehicles yourself, but you should be able to repair your own vehicle for long-term effectiveness.

As spec Ops you aren't spotted on scans, this is a HUGE advantage over other kits.  Like I said though, I'm still a fairly new player so my tactics may not be the best.
Is that true?

I find that I use the Noob tube alot when I play assault.  Mainly becuase i like to take out the newbie squads that like to gather really close and hit them with a single 'nade round.  Also, the noob tube can sling further then the handgrenade so I use it to soften up the area before going in.  I find that they are THE main personnel to do most of the hard fighting.  The armor is good enuf to last close encounters.  But make sure that you have medic kits around.  When i get tired of being spanked by the tanks, then i switch to AT.  SF is fun but its really tiring to get killed by a few rounds from another assault guy.
