I have only played Battlefield 2 about 4 times and that is at the local LAN center. I am really interested in getting it so I can play it at home. The problem is I dont know if my computer is good enough. I have looked for minimum requirements for BF2 but I havent found them. If you could show me were they are at or suggest a good computer for BF2 because I badly need a new computer. Right now I have 512 mb of RAM. It is a Dell Dimension DIM3000 with Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.66Hz and 2.66GHz. I copied that off of the system info. Any help will be well appreciated.

Hi there!

I actually had the exact same system before. You need to upgrade the RAM to at least 1GB and I recommend getting an FX5200 256MB PCI video card because the computer will only have PCI slots.

You'll be able to play on low-medium settings at around 75% VSD (View scale distance).

at least 1 gig of ram, 2 gigs is best, and at least a 6800 nvidia card.

you will need a gpu, and some more ram probably.
i used to run with 512 of ram and an fx52000......it worked, but horribly.
get at least a gig of ram, if not two.
look into video cards and see what is in your price range......remember if you go too high end with gpu's its just another upgrade after that with a new psu.

ya that happened to my friend he bought a basic dell and found out that the motherboard was integrated with the video card and had to get a new computer

I'm running BF2 on 512MB RAM with a Geforce 6200 256MB card. I don't run anything other than xfire when I go on (close all other processes). Servers are a little laggy when you join them, but apart from that, it works ok. I'm looking into getting another gig of RAM though, as it does take a little longer to join a server (verifying client data bit) with a low RAM.

you can change it as long as you have a PCI slot.

Although you would probably be best having 1gig of ram. I have friends playing this with 256mb and they say its fine. So your 500 should be good enough

Yo, i'd suggest you find a local computer tech shop, or even a friend that can help. This will probably make things much easier while you decide on what you can or want to upgrade.

the x700 actually runs quite nicely for it's specs. I've seen it pull of a decent fps on all high (except for lighting/ and the dynamic settings).
