so i got a new ipod nano for my birthday and it's 2 GB. I thought that was fine when i bought it. But i got home and plugged it in my computer and it says that the capacity is only 1.73 gig. Can i get my money back or request a new one?

hmmm, u know that companies sell their storage memory with 1gb=1000mb but in real life it is 1gb=1024mb so u loose some capacity. apple's software might also need some space.
u know, like my hdd is 200Gb but it is actually 173Gb....  so it is probably ok.

it's the amount of memory that the ipod OS uses.  technically you do have a 2gb ipod...but .27gb is being used by programs.

My 300GB hard drive, only 273GB usable. Deal with it.
