So... with the fat lot of IO servers anymore, and vech. servers being sparsly populated enough to where everyone has a buggy to themselves, how is anyone supposed to get driver ability points for medals? Any advice?
try getting a few friends together for a couple of rounds
pilot a black hawk on a 64 man wake or oman server and you rack them in
Take engineer, take a humvee, follow your tanks around on Jalalalalalalalalabad.
Play EF and AF, lots of vehicles.
Re-install an early Bf2 patch, learn what a Blackhawk is (they got nerfed so hard you can take them down with a pistol clip) and let the FUN begin! Might have to ahhhh, hack the other servers and install the patch on that side too. But u REALLY want this medal don't you?
Anyone remember those days? 6 people in a blackhawk, gunners cut through the inf like a scythe, capping points in 5s flat. At the end of the round, there'd 6 guys all on 120-odd points cos everyone in the vehicle got points for capping. Golden. My best round of 189 came from continuously circling hotel on Mashtuur cos it was the only point they had. Same time i got my 81 kill streak. Then there was all that teamkilling that went on to get in them.....

There has been a sudden increase in Karkand servers with tanks and stuff, or is it just me that's noticed that?
Play a Squad Leader in an APC, as an engineer, generally you get a lot of your squad spawn on you, especially if they are support...etc when you park up behind a tank, you can get a good few points then.

These points have been a thorn in my side
what things do you have to do to get these points ? what are the guidlines for getting these points ?
You drive your vehicle containing supports/medics/engineers. They repair other vehicles form your mobile armory/hospital/repair shop. You get points for helping them do this.
you don't actually technically need a "Driver Ability Assist" point to get the Crew Service ribbon
just get 11 Driver kill assists and it works (or 21 for the crew specialist ribbon)

This does not at all give you driver ability points. To get a driver ability point you need to be driving a vehicle and have a medic, support ect..... heal or resupply someone while you are driving or flying. You will actually see that you have received a driver ability point.Jem250 wrote:

Driver Kill Assist = Driver Special Ability on teamwork points. Just fly a vehicle for a good gunner and you will get them rapidly.
