Wouldn't that be amazing? Having Shoulder mounted stinger so we can shoot downplanes and choppers etc. for theAnti Tank kit or the Engineer kit... (instead of AT mines)

I think it's the most needed weapon at the moment... maybe some lube for the wrench:)

What do you think?

I was thinking the same thing, especially since BFV had that option. I mean, isn't this supposed to be modern combat?

yeah, shoulder stingers would be cool. but shouldn't this be in 'bf2 improvements' then?

I wanna see what people think, maybe I'm all wrong about the stingers...

I don't think it needs it.  Come on the freakin AA already reaches to where you cannot see it.  Try flying a chopper.  The alarm is going off and if youre lucky enough to "see" the origin you'd "see' the rocket trails.   And the freakin AA is on the other side of the map.

I say stop whinning about AA, and keep noobs out of planes and choppers.   They are your support.

with the current lock on of AA?

or the missiles them selves? a plane can easily outmanouver thestingers...

I like it just because it would still only fire one at a time. Something that would make it alot better is to not give a warning till the heatseaking missile is lose. Since you drop flares to confuse them, it IS a heatseaking missile. So really, there is no emission till it is fired.

Indeed, that always bugged me as well. It's a passive seeker, you don't know it's locked on until it's fired, and even then only if you have an IR/RF sensor of some sort that can detect the stinger in flight.

The problem with the fixed mounts is that all the pilots know where they are, and routinely blast them out of precaution. Being able to fire at them from an unknown location would make a huge difference.

Hehe...the SRAW/ERYX would be unaffected. Being laser-guided, you'd get an audible warning in your tank any time someone painted you with a laser.

...which is why I paint the ground NEXT to you with the laser, and curve the missile into your treads at the last second. Gives you less chance to pop the smoke.

The numbers would tend to suggest you are wrong. I don't often see AA whores winning the medals...
