I play Karkand a lot and I've found out this works pretty well
I just normally go with the action. Most people wont need a guide to karkand though.
I have an addition to all of this.
AT = Perfect anti-sniper/machine gunner/stationary machine gunner/group of medics/charging enemy weapon on IO.
Seriously, all I need is the P90 on single shot mode and I'm set. For some reason, I can only do this with the SRAW, though, not the ERYX.

well I like to win because my win to loss ratio isn't very good. But yeah sometimes I just get tired of capturing flags and fight for the Hotel. Also, if the MEC is blocking you from getting Suburbs, after you go down that big hill that leads right into that little house (to the left of Square, behind where a lot of spawn campers sit at the bottom of the road) you can go for Train Accident. It takes longer but you will get a flag. And make sure you create a squad and invite as many people as you can. And don't go for the flag until your squad neutralizes it because once you die, the squad can die. The same applies with all things, cut the head off of a snake and the body dies.
Kill the leader, the members will die. (got that from Gears of War)
I've played Bf2 since I was 12 (14 now)

Dont play Karkand.
If you dont get this, too bad. But I cap flags by this way and cap unguarded flags and move on, so the screenshot shows all possible ways i can use to cap when I get square:

yeah but if ur alone, once the flag turns white, people will start nading you and coming at you from Hotel. but that would be good, if you had a squad.
I've got a good strat.
Lie down next to a hotel spawn,i like to do the tunnel one or the alley one, then kill people as they spawn.

LMAO @ noob zone hehe
How to play Karkand 101:
1) Stand on the hills if USMC, or on the sandbags if MEC.
2) Throw ammo bags at your feet. IMPORTANT: Make sure you give none to anyone eles.
3) Throw grenades towards enemy, the quicker and closer to your own team, the better.
4) Repeat Steps 2-3.

Nature is a powerful force. Those who seek to subdue nature, never do so permanently.
I think the best strategy for Karkand is to not run into the grenade zone. After playing the map once I realised that it was certain death and never did it again. Whatever you do after following that rule is up to you.
Yeah, I think that when it first came out, I enjoyed playing in the "noob zone" with a shotgun because that was all close quarters. Back then it was good to have a DAO-12 because you had no need for nades. But now I can't use a DAO-12 without killing someone every 3 deaths because of some guy bunny chuckin' (jumping and throwing nades) behind a fence while his whore is giving him ammo when I can't kill him because I have an ERIX. this process can last the whole game. Now even though bunny chuckin can get you more points than going around and getting flags, it shows lack of skill. Pressing spacebar and clicking at the same time takes no skill AT ALL. Some down syndrome kid could do that for hours before he knew what he was doing. I use guns and not noob rocks. Please let there be a server besides mine (which gets full all of the time) that has a nade spamming kick. My server is =KA= KABOOM strike at karkand 24/7 ff off. We have a nade spamming kick.
From now on I shall refer to this area as the DNZ (Dead Noob Zone)
Your strategy concentrates on avoiding conflict. Unless you know your team sucks, just make the push for the hotel. If they do suck, you still might as well give up on jogging flag-to-flag and just hang back at the hotel whoring kills. If you know your team sucks, but you have a good squad to roll with, your strategy wouldnt be so bad.
Not only can you go to the left, but the right, near the out of bound zone is very useful. When you have a good squad, you can lead everyone by the tall wall and get to the back MEC bases really easy. I have been in squads where we take all of the MEC bases in the back and get to either the Gatehouse or Train Accident before the MEC even notice or try to counter attack.
It depends if it IO or if you have vehicles turned on, if the vehicles are turned on just get an apc and fly down the train tracks making sure your down the other side of the wall. maybe wait 10 seconds for the mec apc's and tank to cross the water and your home free to get any flag u want on other side of bridge, if its IO exactly same tactic, loads of troops down there, and split off, some go to the train accident and the rest go across the water and all peel off to different flags, making sure someone catches the factory pretty quick. this seems to never fail. i find on IO if you go to the Suburb first you wont last, i mean you get a couple flags on this side of the water, but the ones on the other side of the water are way more important.
