Police interview web party girl

Police are to interview a 17-year-old girl whose party guests caused £20,000 of damage to her parents' house.

About 200 youngsters turned up at the £230,000 home in Houghton-le-Spring, County Durham, after the bash was advertised on a website.

Rachael Bell denies advertising the event on MySpace while her parents were away on Easter Monday and claims her profile was hacked.

Her father Alan said the house had been "totally trashed".

'House rape'

A spokesman for Durham Police said: "We will be speaking to Rachael in due course about the party and also as many of the guests who were there as possible."

The 17-year-old's mother, Elaine Bell, described the party as "house rape" and called the revellers "worse than animals".

Guests urinated on a wedding dress and stole jewellery from the house in Chipchase Court.

It's absolutely trashed, and I hope no-one else has to go through what me and my wife have these last few days

Some party-goers also swung from ceiling light fittings, stubbed out cigarettes on the carpet, vomited throughout the house and barricaded the back door to prevent neighbours from intervening.

Mr and Mrs Bell returned on Tuesday morning to find the trail of destruction.

They have since made a formal complaint of criminal damage to police.

Mrs Bell added: "I told her that I did not want any kids or drink in the house while I was away and I'm furious.

The house where the party took place

"It's worse than a burglary, I can't believe it.

"Whoever has come in here are worse than animals, it's like house rape."

She said her daughter was now staying with friends for a "cooling off" period.

The youngster had expected 30 or 40 guests but 200 turned up.

Mr Bell added: "It's absolutely trashed, and I hope no-one else has to go through what me and my wife have these last few days."

The Durham Police spokesman said some people travelled hundreds of miles to be at the party.

He said: "There has been a formal complaint from the owners of criminal damage to interior fixtures and fittings.

"Inquiries are under way and we plan to speak in due course to as many of the party-goers as we can."

Maybe the wedding dress got drunk and insulted someone's mother?

Well, it would have been cool to be there, but if i were the parents of the young girl i would have kicked her ass, Myspace, bebo, and teenchat cause nothing but evil, it is the parents fault in a sense for leaving a 17 y.o girl home alone
