ok before you flame me, call me a n00b or what ever i used the huge SEARCH button and found jack shit to what some of your opinons are, when loading a map i dno karkand for example and you load in really really quick cause you have a top notch system and other players are still loading you and cap the 1st flag this puts the MEC team at a huge disadvantage seeming as they have already lost a flag and there tickets are already falling, i mean one time i joined the game spawned capped the hotel flag in a humvee and then took suburb before anyone else had spawned, dont you think that they should make it a bit more fair by waiting for everyone to load the map and then let people spawn some servers it says "the game will start in 10secs" although thats not enough really, also as a mate moans at me (as he has a shit system) people who are new to the game but have a good system load in first and take commander and then do nothing with it just play as normal which sux badly, is something going to be fixed about this in the new patch a i loked at the list and found nothing about it, i just think it kinda makes the game less fun taking all the flags with no one to give a fight i mean i love winning as im going for the war college ribbon (its never gna happen) but i just cant see that its fair for other players.

if this has been posted before and i didnt find it using search could someone post the link to where i can find it then ill delete this thread or what ever

I agree with you, and the solution already exists, it's in the server set up. Most server admins just don't set it up that way.

agreed I also don't load that fast. just make it at least both sides 5 ppl done loading and then the game starts in 10 sec

i agree, although..... it doesnt bother me, i dont have the best system (but it aint the worst eather ) i find that there is usualy a good amount of players on each team with a high rig that spawn at about the sametime so that usualy works out ok

The harddrive determines how fast you load maps... to improve load performance get a fast harddrive and defrag it or raid two harddrives in raid 0.

My friend has an Athlon XP and his load times are really fast because he has 2 harddrives in raid 0.

on one hand i like it, purely because i spent a lot of money on my sysytem and i enjoy gettibg first pick at all the vehicles and stuff, but i do agree that it is unfair.
After saying that though, the other day i was in a server, and it comes up 2.00 mins to map start, and i'm there saying what the *&^!, this is *%^&£$* , why cant i play now you feggin &^£"**$!. 2 mins is way too long imo, but 30 secs is usually the best bet.

I'm the first person on the server 90% of the time, otherwise i tie with one or two people.
I dont think its really unfair, those of that spend a fortune on our computer deserve whatever vehicle we want imo

I never try to take flags though when i get in first, at most i just get into a good spot to spawn camp you guys for a bit and earn a few free points, but taking flags would be cheap. Besides for all the infantry whores out there on Karkand like me, you not having that spawn point = longer for me to start getting points

Oh and always getting pilot on Mashtuur and Sharqi is fun too.

As server admin's we set the map loading time to 40 seconds so everybody has a change to start at the same time . So no uber pc whore get to the verhicles first cause usually those with the fastest pc's are the biggest nààbs.
They need a fast pc to make up there noobinessss ... :ppp

this is prolly fiexed by messing with your systems swat file setting cause thats where the map data is transfers when you load ... the most important here is disk performance al the rest is irrelevant as proven. Even with a Fast CPU you still have laggg.

get your self some SCSI 320 disks in stripe ... that should do it :ppp

RAM makes the biggest difference adam. Anywho, I don't have extremely fast load times but why is it an incredible advantage because someone was able to spend money on upgrading their computer? So you are gonna say they are cheap for having a good rig. Yeah, I guess everyone should only be allowed to run BF2 on a Radeon 9600 and 1 GB of RAm with a 2.8 Ghz P4 processor. So that its fair. Heh, funny thing is, my system right now is a pile, but I load faster than anyone in my clan because my settings are all on rock bottom. If servers don't have it set up to wait, I can get a tank from USMC back flag to hotel on Karkand before anyone else loads in.

We'll see how that all changes in a week when I'm done with my new system.
