Im trying to gain 10 pounds and I find it impossible to make my weight move on the scale, Ive been eating a high calorie diet this whole week and my weight literally didnt move even one tenth of a pound, I was thinking of buying a weight gain supplement. Any suggestions on how I can gain any weight effectively?
Beer
Why do you want to gain weight? You want to build muscle right, not fat?
Eat healthy work out 3 times a day and eat 5 times a day.. that the only thing that worked for me.
The supplements will not work, when you are to light.

I'm underweight according to my doctor I need to gain more weight to first of all not look thin and be at a healthy BMI. Not necessarily muscle just pounds.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

lol, you need to work out... not just eat fatty food. If you work out you can gain muscle which weighs twice as much as fat.
A couple of pounds of bacon is just what the BigmacK ordered. lol.

So am I. Go all supersize me, eating fast food in gross excess. I'm not sure of any other way to put on weight faster if you don't care about doing it the healthy way.Masterstyle wrote:

You can gain weight without needing to increase your chance of getting a heart attack and dying young.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Just eat a shitload. I can link you to a calorie calculator if you want.
Eat a couple of tubs of butter, that should do it.
Like I said, if you don't care about doing it the healthy way.Zimmer wrote:

If I were you, even if I were underweight, I would start working out about 4-6 times a week, and getting 4000-5000 calories the good way. Lots of fish, quality meat, dairy, drink lots of water, etc.
I do eat healthy but I dont work out, by high calorie diet I meant I ate an extra banana and apple or glass of milk with my meal I eat fatty foods to help my weight go up also, but my point is that my weight didn't move at all this week when doing this and I'm desperate to find a way to get more pounds on myself.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

i used to do allot of fighting when i was younger and lacked conditioning in the upper body and was getting thumped around by bigger guys allot so my answer was to put on a little more weight and muscle so
here you go it worked for me
wheat germ ----- put on everything ice cream etc....
carnation instant breakfast
noodles, potatoes anything high in carbs
multi vitamins
just like someone trying to loose weight and diet the metabolism will store fat thinking it will conserve.
your metabolism will burn fast till you train it.
it took me like 5 months to go from 150 to 155 but once that happened i went up to 165 in another 2 months which was my target so i quit the wheat germ and the high carb diet and started eating normal again and have kept the weight on without a problem. and like a post or two up muscle is heaver than fat so do some working out of some sort. GOOD LUCK!!!

For a good nutrition guide:

It says "bodybuilding.com" but good nutrition is universal
Go to the local hardware store, buy some iron plating that weighs just as much as you need to gain, grab a knife, and put the plate wherever you need the most protection. it's a win win situation, you get enough weight and you get bodyarmor with it
5 months! to gain 5 pounds? damn I have alot of eating to dojimbo21 wrote:

keep in mind that was me, you may different. i was 22 then and weighed 150 from when i was like 16 or 17 years old. i did allot of fighting and was getting hit in chest and coming home with hurting ribs etc... and thought i needed to bulk up a little so the big guys wouldn't hurt me as much. i didn't realize my body just wasn't used to it though. oh by the way i am almost 40 and still weigh between 165 and 170 so thank god for a high metabolism. last thing you want to be when you get old is a fat fuck!

If you eat 3500 calories a day, you will gain one pound. Eat hard, eat fast.
By the way, my arms are killing me from my stupid dumbbell
