Dangerous Foreigners!
Ban all immigration!
Ban South Koreans!
Nuke the Korean peninsula!
Hell yeah this is our reason to finally invade N.Korea!
etc..etc..etc...
I hope it doesn't turn into that, but i feel it will. May I also suggest that all Asians living in the U.S watch their back for the next couple of weeks.

Well, at least that Korean guy had learned all the principles of american lifestyle during those 15 years he lived over there.
and those would be?????PekkaA wrote:

Yes Cameron, Electronically tag me next time i'm in Ireland. All I ask for is a pint of some proper Guinness. Hell it doesn't bother me none.CameronPoe wrote:
Why not electronically tag everyone? Why limit it to foreigners? Can we tag the millions of American tourists that come to the Republic of Ireland every year (even though 40 million Americans are actually Irish)? What about us tagging the US military when they use Shannon airport as a refuelling point on the way to the middle east?theelviscerator wrote:

I think so.
Honestly I don't really care about electronic tagging or extensive background checks on overseas travellers.
Hell whats the point of going through the nutroll of getting a passport and a stamp if your not going to do a background search?
No invading S.Korea. I loved that place. Nice people,Nice culture, great food, cheap beer (Hite is the shizznitty, and Soju Thunder Runs baby!!) Granted Souson runs sucked every friday, but where else can you travel around and as long as your not a pompous ass, get treated nicely, and know your going to be taken care of if you pass out piss drunk in a bar.
South Korea is a fun place to go. Just stay away from the college age kids, and the women and your good to go.
Well you can hang out with the college age kids as long as you leave the jackass american attitude at home.
I have never been to a place with an underground mall, attached to a subway, with a skate park above the mall.
(MPolice is the Shit!!) Seoul,Eitaewon,Tong du chong, are all great places if you can learn to keep your nose clean and respect the people.

Foreigners and immigrants usually don't kill people. Guns usually do.
Sound advice for any traveler. So many Americans don't know how they truly look overseas (not or even a majority by any means, but a sizable enough majority).CannonFodder11b wrote:

Just cool it a bit, enjoy the scenery, and have patience and it'll go a long way.

Foreigners and immigrants usually don't kill people. Guns usually do.
Misinterpretation FTW.
Maybe I should've actually tried to word it in the way a four-year-old would understand...
Foreigners and immigrants aren't trying/meaning to kill people. People with guns often are.
For fucks sake people. You know what I mean, surely? Stop trying to find the tiniest of holes that have no relavence to the debate. My point is: using the same 'logic' for gun laws on foreigners is one of the most ILLOGICAL things I have heard yet. Guns are designed to kill people. Foreigners aren't.

Its seems pretty fucking no brainer to fully check out foreigners, especially those granted student visas.Spark wrote:

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Guns merely make it easier.
I'm all in favour of gun control. It means I can excercize my right to free speech without people shooting me. The media is going on about 5 stabbings in a month, then this happens; 30-odd people in just a couple of hours.

Wrong, people usually do, animals and acts of god kill also. Should we destroy all sharks for the attacks?Spark wrote:

What about the foreign student who drove through a meeting square on the campus of the University of North Carolina. He used a car to try to kill.

First off, you are right about victims of gun crime, but how many of those victims were armed themselves? you dont know.chittydog wrote:

This argument to constantly monitor students is silly. It's just a redneck trying to justify his racism. A thorough background check is already mandatory and seems to be working pretty well. Besides, the goverment's too busy monitoring the mail and phone calls of its own citizens to have the time to monitor foreigners.
Second, It seems the percentage has not gone up since Bill Clinton has left office. Even though the assault weapons ban has expired. Go figure
Third, Narrow minded foreigners need to keep their dumbasses home where they think they are so safe.

if guns were designed to kill people, then ur calling Remington, Winchester, and all other gunmakers murderers... i dont think they make guns with the intention of having them killl someone, they are made to shoot animals or targets, NOT to shoot a person unless it is a military gun... and if it is a gun for self-defense, then it is made to shoot sum1 to save your life...Skorpy-chan wrote:

Anywho. This is one isolated instance, Columbine, Springfield, recent mall shootings, most gang wars... it's all American citizens, so you can't pull issues like illegal immigration out of issues like this, because when the facts are laid out in front of you, Americans kill other Americans more than anything.
This was why I got pissed when I read that a Korean (resident alien says Wiki) was the perpetrator of the killings. Being that I'm Korean myself (although I was born here), it hit closer to home. After 9/11, there is undeniable prejudice towards anyone of the Muslim faith, and now after this massacre, I'm afraid that the same is going to happen to Koreans or just Asians in general.
Full background check is a must for anyone coming to the US. But a background check on this guy wouldn't have done much anyway. He'd lived here for 15 years; did anyone honestly think that a more severe background check would've given anyone the idea that he would kill 32 people in the course of 1 day in 15 years? Electronic monitoring at all times in the country? While I'll agree that in very sensitive areas (i.e. White House/Governmental Buildings/etc.) any kind of monitoring should be mandatory, but just because someone is a foreigner doesn't mean that they should be monitored at all times unless there is substantial evidence that that certain foreigner has ill intent.
Not all foreigners are dangerous. My parents came over from Korea and have been here for about 20 years, haven't broken any laws, don't own weapons, pay taxes, became naturalized citizens, and haven't done anything wrong in general; more so than other so called "native" citizens. Now you're saying that because of one probably isolated incident, any foreigner coming over to learn should be treated as someone who'll commit a crime?

oh ffs, foreigners are as dangerous as anyone else. Labelling them as potential killers just because they look different and have lived in different cultures is completely ridiculous. In fact, such accusations can be described as an xenophobic red-neck approach to these horrific events.
as for guns - sure ppl are needed for them to kill, but tell me, even if that same guy carried 100 knives for example, would the death toll still be so high? I think not. I know many of you are gun-owners and feel obliged to defend your guns, but think on that point in terms of social security.
