Take a look at it one way is that maybe people need to just be a little nicer to each other and hopefully this won't tip the crazy people over the edge. I'm not saying they brought it on themselves.
Easy. If guns are illegal, then no-one should have a firearm. Companies won't make them, and any found will be destroyed (presumably, though I suppose knowing the US they could instead be used to support a failing dictatorship ). No more guns means they can't be illegally acquired.ThomasMorgan wrote:

Whole affair is bullshit,
perhaps the americans will realise guns and idiots don't mix, stop selling them legally.

People will though. Companies in the US will make guns as long as the manufacture of guns is legal (which it will be for a long time). No heroin or cocaine is legal in the US, but it makes its way in. Same with firearms. If there is a market (which there is) there will be a supply.
It isn't about the right to own a gun. That is already entrenched in American society. You don't live here so you don't understand. So don't try to understand.
Responsible firearm owners need to support legislation that will minimize irresponsible gun deaths.

You are right, but you're also right that the NRA will never allow that to happen. They've managed to maintain an artificial siege mentality among their members where they believe that any legislative restriction on firearms is the first step towards total confiscation and all gun owners being sent to re-education camps where the evil liberals will forcibly "feminize" them. This siege mentality is of course set against a backdrop where the freedoms our bold 2nd Amendment proponents are supposed to be a bulwark of defense for are being rapidly chipped away. A nice little bit of misdirection.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:
