well i dont have that many probs loading and my sys is ancient. Im not the first on and sometimes many others are a good deal ahead on the map. Id say its a combination of memory, HD speed. I got an old seagate Barracuda vii, 80 gig sata, 1.3 gigs of mem. But i religiously scan for spyware, viruses, malware and defrag. The fastest system in the world wont do jack sh*t if its stuffed full of crappy spyware and un-essential programs running in the background. Zone alarm was a pain in the ass for causing lag but that could be down to how i set it up. Avast seems fine.....whats a packet loss anyhow? my mate keeps getting kicked and punky buster says its due to packet loss entity or something.

I don't think it's loading time. For example. When I am on the SFR server The match will start and five minutes later there are still about 12 to 15 teammates for MEC that haven't gotten in the match yet. Then the other team just runs the map till we have one flag and just spawn camp. Its pretty lame.
Then on the next map everyone gets in on time.

One time on Karkand, I spawned at the Hill flag. I got blow to bit by the M1A2 tank. So it took me so long to load that this guy could drive the tank all the way across the map. That sucked.
I usualy when the server switches to karkland I load just in time (on MEC) to see the APC go crusing by. After I load I have a 5-10 seconds 1FPS time. Where every thing looks like a slide show. Even though I see the APC go by (all 3 frames of it) I cannot do any thing about it. Cannot even get the Q + mouse to work to call it out.
This on a 3000+ AMD 64, with Gforce 6800GT, and 1 GB of RAM.

I've had my fair share of being first to spawn, and while its fun to cap a flag or 2 before you even see an enemy I'll agree that it is unfair. And yes server admins can set the spawning delay at map start to longer but then it just annoies the people who load quickly.
I would agree with the idea of starting the map once 5 players on each team have finnished loading, seems the best solution to me.
And as for the comment somebody made about needing to load fast to cover poor play ability, what does me upgrading my computer so I can play oblivion when it comes out have to do with my skill in bf2?
