Poor ski-resorts is right. I was near the Swiss border skiing in France and skiing in the lower valleys is pretty damn ropey these days.
Yeah skiing was bad this year. It better not keep getting worse because skiing is my 3rd most favourite thing in life.

Ok, this is the opinion of regular people, and not news services selling paranoia.  This is what regular people notice in their home cities.

We had an unusually hard winter at the north coast, we actually lost power out here for two weeks during the worst of it. Right now the big problem is all the extra precipitation out here is turning the soil into soup and that plus all of the timber cuts is resulting in a LOT of landslides. Heading down the coast highway every couple of weeks, we've seen a section of road that seems to be about a half inch lower than the last time we passed over it. Of course once the summer hits, Oregon will have the opposite problem and what's left of the glaciers on Mt Hood will likely get even smaller than last year.

Sporadic snow, warmer climate. I remember I used to have snow by my birthday ten years ago, at the 15th of December. Now we're lucky if we have even a snowflake on the ground by Christmas eve.

IN NORWAY, for crying out loud!

I'm not sure how good the memories are of some of the guys here (or how old they are) but in South East Virginia, we had a cooler than normal Winter. Cooler, but virtually no snow to speak of. Funny, but I'm sure Tenessee had a pretty cool Winter too, unlike what the guy earlier in this thread said...

My mother is from Columbia, SC. When she was growing up in the 40's they had Palmettos growing wildly all over the state. (Mind you South Carolina is the "Palmetto State") These days, they only seem to grow wildly at the very southernmost coastal area. Everywhere else, they're artificially planted and have to be regualrly maintained or else they'll die.

Indeed, Climate change does occur naturally. Earth is not the only planet in our solar system that has risen in temperature. I'm pretty confident that Man hasn't raised the temperature on Mars or on Jupiter. (even though he isn't helping the situation here)

I noticed a huge change in Buenos Aires.  Today f.i. we have 32º in late April!!!!!  This is too hot.  Besides, it's rainning too often, and when I say rainning I mean it.  The rains now are tropical style, like the ones you can find in Costa Rica.  We have no winter.  I wonder if the guys in Sydney (we are in similar latitudes) noticed the same things.
It has snowed twice in Reno, NV in the past 18 hours

Was it? Where were you? Provided you are at a decent altitude, skiing was fine. I had crap loads of snow everyday, and when it wasn't it was still fucking cold. Places that are low are always shitty. Hell, it's still skiable in Swissland right now. My mate has been boarding right up until the lifts have closed. (This week or last IIRC)

Oh, and I don't partake in anything as uncivilised as snowboarding btw. Skiing FTW!

Christchurch, New Zealand.  Latitude 45 degrees.  The seasons are coming later and later, and are less distinct.  The weather varies a lot more.  eg. at one point in december I saw snowflakes.

I live in the same city as cameronpoe so I'll just concur with his comments.

We also get torrential downpours all of a sudden in the summer time (like in Thailand or something), which I don't really remember having many of in the past.

Hmm...where i was last week, northern new england, we had a noreaster.....very uncommon this time of year as well as the massive snowfall we had along with it.

In Massachusetts today, it is freezing cold.  Last year at this time, I was taking walks at the beach, now i'm insulating my "brothers" so they don't freeze up.  Must be global cooling!

Hm. Much colder than usual this winter, and much warmer than usual this spring. Also, the river Thames flooded for the first time in a few years.
Air quality's dropped a whole load, and I dunno if it's climatic or anything, but people are so goddamn STUPID these days.
